Good (enough) value and quality
I skated a LOT in roller rinks as a teenager and young adult. I skated backward and at one time earned a trophy for skate dancing. BUT all that was 45 years ago. So I’m not a beginner, and I knew I would not be happy with the quality and performance of “cheap” skates, but I needed to ease back into skating and I didn’t want to spent a lot of money. I was happy to find these on Amazon for about $60, which I think is a good value. I bought them based on the reviews and figured that if I start skating a lot again that I will probably need to replace them with better quality skates. So far, I’m thinking I will keep them! The boots on these skates are surprisingly very comfortable. I wear a US size 7 WIDE in ladies. I ordered a 7 (EU38), and they fit me great. So these run a little wide. If you have narrow feet, they might slide around inside these skates a bit, but a pair of thicker socks would solve that. I recommend ordering your normal size. They come unlaced so plan to spend a few minutes lacing them up before the first time you wear them. The laces were long enough and seem good enough quality. Like classic skates, these have shoe lace eyelets over the foot and three sets of lacing hooks at the top of the boot. The boots on these skates are made of “deluxe PU leather”—-well, that’s a synthetic material, and so my feet sweat in them a bit, but not bad. The little air holes on the sides help. The wheels spin nice and smooth—-but with a bit more friction (less spin) than I was used to. So they’d be good for beginners—but I was pretty happy with their performance and feel. They do not feel as “slippery” as “faster” wheels, and it takes a bit more effort to move along in them and pick up speed. But they were good. And I was very happy with the alignment of these skates. They roll straight and have a nice “balanced” feel to them.My only complaint is that about half way through the night, something suddenly went wrong with one of the skates—I initially thought I had skated through some spilled soda on the floor. Turns out that the toe stop just fell off. It really changed the feel of the skate. I’m not sure how that happened because the toe stop is screwed on with an attached bolt. I guess it wasn’t tight to begin with, and so it came unscrewed. I found the toe stop and also the washer, and I just screwed it back onto the skate by hand. That never, ever happed to me in all the years I skated back in the day. I guess I will need to check that for tightness periodically.Overall, I was happy with these and recommend them.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review helped you.Ver másVer menos
