Highly Reommend for Small Electronics Repair (especially laptops!)
I recently purchased the iFixit Essential Electronics Toolkit, and it has proven to be an invaluable resource for my DIY electronics projects and repairs. This toolkit is well-designed and comprehensive, making it a must-have for anyone who frequently works with gadgets.Pros:Comprehensive Tool Selection: The toolkit includes a wide variety of tools, including precision screwdrivers, spudgers, tweezers, and more. This diverse selection allows me to tackle a range of repairs, from smartphones to laptops, with ease. High-Quality Tools: Each tool feels sturdy and well-made. The screwdrivers have a comfortable grip and magnetic tips, which make it easy to handle small screws. The quality of the tools gives me confidence that they will last through many projects. Organized Case: The toolkit comes in a compact and organized case, making it easy to store and transport. I appreciate how everything has its place, which helps keep my workspace tidy and ensures I can quickly find the tool I need. User-Friendly: Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced technician, this toolkit is user-friendly. The included instructions and guides make it easy to understand how to use each tool effectively. Great Value: Considering the quality and variety of tools included, the price is very reasonable. It’s an excellent investment for anyone looking to perform electronics repairs without breaking the bank.Cons:Limited Specialty Tools: While the toolkit covers most basic needs, some advanced repairs may require additional specialty tools not included in the set. However, this is a minor drawback for the average user.Overall, the iFixit Essential Electronics Toolkit is an outstanding choice for anyone interested in electronics repair or DIY projects. Its high-quality tools, comprehensive selection, and organized design make it a fantastic investment. I highly recommend this toolkit to both beginners and seasoned repair enthusiasts!Ver másVer menos

Great set perfect for common jobs
Some of the tools are plastic but they still all feel like good quality and have been helpful for a lot of little repairs and maintenance on my electronics that I've been putting offThe magnetized screwdriver (mostly plastic) is pretty nice. It has a rubber grip and it's nice that you can store three bits in the free-spinning end cap. It is the cheapest bit driver ifixit has, but it gets the job done all the same. Not sure how often I'll need a lot of the bits (all metal), but I guess it's better to have them just in case. Not like they drove up the price much anywaysThe spudger (carbon fiber) and opening tool (plastic, apparently engineered to break before your device does) were perfect for getting a broken drive out of one of my laptops that had been stuck down with sticky putty by someone else's previous repair. I was able to lift it enough with the opening tool to stab at the putty with the spudger until the drive came freeThe opening pick (plastic) (there are 6) made taking the shell off that laptop and my 3ds a breezeI haven't used the tweezers (metal), suction cup (plastic), or jimmy (plastic with metal blade) yet but I know they'll be useful for things I'm planning and they seem like decent qualityEverything comes nice and snug in a solid case (plastic, fit foam insert inside). It's two separate pieces held together with magnets, they hold well. To get the tools out you just push down on the bottom of them and they'll flip upOnly thing I might see myself needing that's not in here is a way to heat up and soften adhesives, but it's pretty easy to improvise a heating pad. And if it's something I somehow end up needing often, I'd rather just buy a heat gun insteadAnd the price is pretty good! Each of the tools individually would be $37 from ifixit, and that's without factoring in all the screwdriver bitsPlus it came with cool stickers! If you have use for the tools, definitely pick this up. If you're not gonna use them all, ifixit is still a great company and I'm sure there's another kit that will suit your needs. Or you can always pick up a couple specific tools if that's all you needVer másVer menos

Nicely designed, useful tools with great packaging
Nicely designed set of tools for fixing laptop. The lid is used for placing the screws you removed in a configuration so you don't forget (even then my clutzy self still lost one). Anyway, I was able to fix my usbC port in my MacAir, using this set of tools and a video. The replacement port was under $15 and seems to work great. This saved me tons of money and empowered me to search for other tech that I could fix. Nice to read the philosophy of this brand and even cooler to see that the founders graduated from Cal poly SLO, where my two sons are also alums!Ver másVer menos

Excellent purchase
I have read many reviews and i have to say is: the negative reviews come from heavy hands. I have fixed and upgraded multiple laptops, and use the toolset for my personal PC. Never stripped out screw heads, or the tool bits. The durability is in not forcing things like you would with a vehicle or fixes around the home. Those screw heads were built for a little abuse. The set comes with everything you need and the lid turns into a nice screw tray. This is especially handy for laptops and mobile devices. The best 40.00 spent (roughly) on PC tools. Only wish it came with an ESD wrist strap for repairs in the field, but can purchase one for 5.00-7.00 usd.Ver másVer menos

Solid Toolkit
Solid kit overall when it comes to fixing electronics. In this case, it was used for keyboard modding. The pry tool does work well, but there are concerns for the stability of the metal to the handle espcially if force is used, which can result in the tool breaking. The price is somewhat debatable, but overall is still worthwhile to have in inventory. The case could be better made as a separate attachment can be concerning should someone accidentally drop the case and the items in it fly out.Ver másVer menos

Quality over Quantity, absolutely fantastic
Always enjoyed iFixit brands, came with everything shown. All bits had their EXACT sizes on the side (T5 Torx, etc.)I really enjoyed the fact that the top of the case is of sturdy material and the magnetic cover was the cherry on top. Worked for fixing my oculus quest 2 (as it was the most highly recommended tool of the searches that I used) Extremely satisfied by the general size of the case and for my overall usage. Definitely recommend!Ver másVer menos
