Fits 2000 Sportster 883C with forward controls and looks great
I was surprised at how heavy this crash bar was, I am equating that to it being solidly build. I needed to get new bolts for the top mount, 1.5" was good, the originals were just an inch long. Some directions would be nice. While it wasn't difficult to work out, I could have saved quite a bit of time. I needed to use one of the washers on the adapter when fitting it to the engine mounts, I put it in the left side of the bike by the gear lever. I also found that fitting the bottom first gave me a lot of support when fastening the top. I tried it the other way round, but the bar is heavy, and you really need three hands to get the bold to align. I was wondering why the horn mount had spacers built into it. This is because the top mount bracket is not flat. I needed to put the horn mount on top of the crash bar to get it to fit properly. I tried it the other way round first before I realized that. I got some stainless bolts with a hex head at my local hardware store, I also put new horn screws with a hex head. It looked like my had been taken on and off a few times. I've not tried laying the bike over to see what angle it catches, but my legs feel safer, and I think it will be easier to pick the bike up if it ends up on its side.Ver másVer menos
