A definite upgrade from my S8

I have to be honest, I am a long time Samsung phone fan. While I've tried other manufactures, I always seem to come back to Samsung.My likes:Super fast chargingBattery lasts a LOT long than my S8'sThe camera is awesome IF you know how to take manually set up a DSLR. I found taking pictures in auto they sometimes seemed washed out, so I usually set my aperture and/or my shutter speed and don't spend a lot of time in the lab correcting my pictures. If you are going to take pictures in auto, minimize light objects (like white clouds) in photos and you won't have a problem. I have used the camera to take night shots of the moon and planets with surprisingly good results, but I did use a tripod.The zoom works pretty well, but if you zoom in all the way, expect pixelation.The display is fantastic, and I love how fast it can move from app to app.Quality is greatWhile I was hesitant in buying a cell phone from Amazon, this was a great deal directly from Samsung with a savings of hundreds of dollars.The phone came with a screen saver already installed and it works great! I don't have any problems with the finger print reader.What I don't like:no headphone jack, but the phone came with a set of USB C headphones, so that is a wash for meThe housing is WAY too slippery! I immediately bought an aftermarket case to protect the phone and to be able to hold on to it.Ver más

A bit pricy but the technology makes up for it

I bought this phone (Galaxy S20+) over the baseline S20 because it came equipped with a 3D Scanner sensor attached and from reviews online had a better camera than the S20 Ultra in most other regards.In terms of reviewing features of this phone I am not a power-user and thus cannot properly review all aspects of the phone properly.- In terms of 5G I haven't been able to test the network since I use a pre-pay SIM and do not have access to data plans that use it. But it gives me the option to switch to upcoming 5G networks if I chose to do so in the future. This phone also allows you to directly choose between GSM and CDMA which is perfect for me since I plan to eventually move outside the US (CDMA) to a country that uses GSM without having to purchase a new phone. If you buy the phone from a carrier you need to unlock the phone in order to switch and sometimes carrier versions of phones are locked, so I purchased this phone here directly from Samsung in order to make sure I can go between both without issue.- The camera is pretty good under normal conditions but due to the size of the camera sensor (any phone camera) it doesn't hold under scrutiny when zoomed in past 2x since all of the detail in the image starts to become smudgy. Obviously the cameras aren't going to be as good as photographer mirrorless or DSLRs but they are serviceable in most situations- The 3D sensor unfortunately requires you to have an account with Samsung in order to download since its only on their app store, but once you have the app downloaded it works pretty good for human 3D scanning and okay with objects. I was able to scan my friends with my phone in bright sunlight and got really good results, it exported .obj models which works good in all 3D software and including game engines like Unity and Unreal.- The 120Hz display is a great addition but doesn't work in WQHD+ (3200x1440) but with a phone this size I personally don't see much benefit going bast FHD+ (2400x1080).- The phone battery is extremely good (only been used for 3 months so time will tell), but I can often go an entire week without having to charge the battery. However being said I am not an average user, I use my phone mainly for 3D scanning, listening to music (with screen off), browsing at least 30min a day, and light camera and discord use. I do not use any social media on the phone unlike most people so my phone battery time estimate can be completely different to those who use their phone's throughout the day. The S+ is equiped with a 4500 mAh Battery.- I cannot review the face recognition since I do not use this feature.- The fingerprint reader is surprisingly good even though its on the screen, I personally prefer the sensor be on the back of the phone since my finger naturally places itself on the back. So its minor inconvenient that the sensor is on the front. But other than personal preference it works as intended.- The SD card slot was one of the main reasons I picked this phone over other 5G alternatives, because I store all of my files locally on my phone (since I don't use streaming services/ no data plans) and it is a great feature to have. I can use a 512GB SD card or up to 1TB SD card to store as much movies, shows, and music on it without bloating my phone's internal storage.- The phone's build quality is pretty sturdy (I haven't dropped tested it since its my only phone, other reviewers have already done those). It comes with a thin protective layer above the screen and the phone seems to be built with a combination of light metal and plastic, it's surprisingly light for a phone of this size. But its a bit tall for one hand use with people with small hands like me.Overall its a great phone with a lot of features, it's way overkill for me but I bought it for longevity and being able to use it for a decade as 5G networks evolve and become more common. The camera is good for high detail shots but not good under crop, the 3D scanning it hit or miss, but the other features such as 120Hz and high capacity SD card slots great. Still miss the lack of 3.5mm jack since some old equipment and cars won't be able to use this phone without the use of Bluetooth adapters.Ver más

A solid Samsung S 20+ phone with 5G capability

The phone arrived a day ahead of planned delivery. Packaging in the Amazon box was minimal. This is my third Samsung cell phone. I buy Samsung phones for their reliability. This phone was very easy to set up. I got the U.S. unlocked version with 128gb. I put the SIM card for Verizon service from my other unlocked Samsung S9 phone into this phone and it worked beautifully. The camera is very cool in this phone. Pictures are way better than the photos I took with the S9 and I thought the S9 camera was superior. The only thing I am working around is waking up the phone. I have the phone in a wallet case. Double taping the screen or just picking the phone up to wake up the phone doesn't work well so I have to press a side button each time to wake up the screen. A small inconvenience to me for such a great cell phone with 5G capability. Battery life is ok. I can't say it is better than the Samsung S9 battery life. The fast charging cable that comes with the S20+ works quick. Overall, this phone is a great phone to own if you are not an IPhone fan.Ver más

Good phone but selfie camera is awful and no LED indicator

I expected really fantastic photos from this camera and the rear camera is pretty great but the forward facing (selfie) camera is absolute garbage. I've messed with the settings, I've reset the settings, I've researched ways to fix it and there is just nothing that can be done I guess. The coloring is way off, like there is some weird instagram filter that you simply cannot remove. The colors look washed out and blah. I am super disappointed, I upgraded from an S9+ and I miss the camera on that phone. The rear camera takes pretty good photos but I don't see much of a difference between this camera and my S9+ which is pretty disappointing considering how hyped up this camera was and for the price point. I've never been an iphone user but this camera is so bad I'm actually considering making the switch to iphone next time I upgrade, that's how awful the camera is.The rest of the phone is great though. The battery life is fantastic - I've owned it for about 2 months now and I only charge it every few days and I use it a moderate amount. Apps are fast to open and use and internet is fast. The fingerprint reader is great.I do want to point out though that there is NO LED INDICATOR for messages which really threw me off. I have always had some type of indicator on every phone I've had in the last decade so this is really an usual change for me, and not really a welcome one. I tend to keep my phone on silent so not having some type of light indicator is a fairly big inconvenience but that's my fault for not researching the phone enough I guess.Ver más

Great deal for a great phone

I upgraded from the S10+ to the S20 Ultra initially, but my roommate opted for the S20+. I quickly realized that this was by far the best of the three and I was able to return the ultra and get the plus. The ultra, and I cannot stress this enough, is way too expensive to justify purchasing (even on sale) unless you are using that camera all the time. Its slightly larger battery did not actually increase the phones life at all compared to the plus and the model is longer instead of wider compared to the s10+. If you have smaller hands this may be nice, but I do not and making the phone longer has only made it seem smaller than the s10 now. Regardless, you should get the S20+ anyway because it's a far better value and honestly I like the phone more. It feels more normal to me. If you want to buy it, I would wait until June 22 or sometime thereabout as amazon will be having a major sale and you can probably get it for 850-900 or 950-1000 with some kind of bonus gift. I can't make any promises though!Ver más

Great seller and great phone!

Love my Galaxy S20 + 5g! I got the light blue color and its so pretty. I did lots of research between the different Galaxys before my purchase so it fit my price point and my needs. I love the camera on this phone and I purchased a camera screen protector as well which works great as was easy to apply. Besides the camera my favorite feature is the removable micro SD card as my photos/videos build up fast. Right now I have a 256gb one in and I have plenty of free space. The seller shipped fast and everything was packaged nicely just as described!My only con about this phone is that I would love an actual head phone jack, but I've worked around it with no problem by purchasing a dual headphone jack/charger adapter along with just a headphone adapter. The phone comes with a properly adapted headphones already, I just lose headphones so its nice to have everything prepared and it didn't cost much at all.Ver más
