Corsair Harpoon RBG Mouse Compatible 95% satisfaction. Successful temporary fix!
TLDR: Replacement for Corsair Harpoon RGB Mouse cord? Yes, but is different in size and took a good push-in! Wired functions do not work, all other functions work as normal. Buy as a replacement cord if the original broke. Don't buy the cord and a new Corsair Harpoon RBG together, there are better options!Let's start with I got a new puppy and my original cord for my Corsair Harpoon fell on the floor and she chewed it. New puppies cost a lot, so I needed a cheap temporary fix. I stumbled upon this cord. I want a replacement cord, that was the goal, this cord works, but not like the original as it is intended for a Razor mouse.The head of the cord, the portion that plugs into the mouse is slightly off in width and as a whole smaller. This leaves the tracks slightly off, but it can be forced in. When forced in far enough to light up the mouse the scroll wheel is just shy of touching the head of the cord. Still spins freely unimpeded, but looks close. Yes, it takes a good bit of push to get the cord in, but neither the mouse nor the cord was damaged when I did so. Remember to push on the head to insert not the base of the wire where it enters the head as that could damage the wire. Pulling the head back out is also just as stiff, please pull the head, not the wire! It is stiff enough I thought the wire would pull out of the head.After successfully plugging in the mouse I noticed that set to "off" the corded connection will not control the mouse on the screen, meaning you need your 2.4 dongle or Bluetooth functions otherwise, the cord will not help you and you should look for another mouse. ICUE, the Corsairs program for mouse programming, does recognize the mouse as plugged in, so updates to the mouse shouldn't be a problem, and do also shows a charging indicator. DPI changes also still function. I recommend always keeping the mouse plugged into the cord since it's a stiff fit, but the USB portion, the other end of the cable, could easily be plugged into a different port say on a power strip since the wired connection does not control the mouse and only charges it.Since all mouse functions are preserved excluding wired control I give the product 5/5 as it doesn't advertise compatibility with the Corsair mouse, but it did work, so I can only imagine with the mouse it was intended the product would be perfectly fine. However if you are looking for a new mouse and Amazon is suggesting you purchase this cord and the Corsair Harpoon RBG together as it is for me, DO NOT DO IT this is not the intended use of the cord, though this cord works as a replacement if needed!Ver másVer menos
