This caliper is a real PLUS!
I am a retired mechanical engineer now turned certified gemologist and a design jeweler managing Gemoptions Jewelry. I've gone through countless calipers as I rely on them and use them heavily. This caliper is fantastic, always working, batteries last super long, and it's very accurate for my needs - always 0 outs without needing to check that all the time and that's a real plus with less worry.It turns back on with just a touch of the slide or hit the on button to come back to the last reading. It doesn't have a locking screw but not an issue with me. The real plus with me is it's light, doesn't mall items, i.e. does not damage faceted gemstones or precious metals as does the steel units. The plastic carbon fiber composite is super tough, never a scratch and the slide hasn't loosened up on me with all my heavy use as does the steel ones. Just bought 3 more units for my 2 shops at a really great price. I'm happily trashing the steel ones that are inaccurate and totally troublesome needing fixing or adjusting constantly. This caliper is a real PLUS for me in my work. I seldom have time for submitting reviews but had to as I Highly Recommend it and it's a great buy in this overpriced world today.Ver másVer menos

This is a great tool. Easy to use.light weight and it slides very smoothly. For the money it well worth it. Turns off automatically and the display is easy ti read.

Mediocre slide vernier caliper.
I bought these to replace a similar pair that had broken but are not as good quality. Very light weight and plasticky but they do function as intended and are accurate. One thing I do not like is the fact these do not have the micro-adjust thumb screw so you basically just slide the caliper along the scale. Not a good tool for machinist work but for basic wood working it will do ok.Ver másVer menos

The Juice Is Worth The Squeeze
Today’s purchase is a digital caliper.The package included the caliper, with the battery inside, and an additional spare battery. There are directions on the package as well. The unit turns on automatically when adjusted, and shuts off with the press of a button or after it times out. I wanted to get some precious measurements on the various gauge wires that I use in different applications. I had some concerns that the wires were not properly sized, and the old calipers I was using were not accurate. They also only measure outside diameter, whereas this unit measures four parameters, both outside and inside diameters with two sets of jaws, plus depth and step with a probe on the end. The unit is very easy to use, and the digital display is very easy to read. The device also displays both metric and American units. The device made it so much easier and so much more accurate trying to measure the stuff that I was before. The results I obtained made me super happy, not just because they are more accurate, but they gave me confidence that the product's quality that I measured was verified. This device does a fantastic job and is listed at a great price, making it an amazing deal in my opinion. If you’re like me and got a bunch of tiny and precise measurements to make, and are looking for a device, or to upgrade your current device, I highly recommend these digital calipers.Ver másVer menos
