Massive Temp Drop for My SAS Drives – Whisper Quiet and Efficient
I installed the Noctua NF-P12 redux-1300 in my home server (a Dell PowerEdge tower running four 7200RPM SAS hard drives), and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Before installing this fan, my drives were running around 48°C under load. After adding the NF-P12 redux-1300 between the HDD cage and CPU area, temperatures dropped into the mid-to-high 30s. That’s a massive improvement for drive longevity. What really impressed me is how quiet it is. Even mounted inside a server chassis, it’s practically silent. Airflow is strong and focused, but there’s no annoying whine or vibration. (and I even installed this with zip ties!)Another bonus: very low power draw. It adds cooling without adding noticeable load to the system. If you’re building or upgrading a NAS, home server, or drive-heavy system and want reliable airflow without noise, this fan is absolutely worth it. Classic Noctua quality.Ver másVer menos
