Amazing keyboard - it is worth it!
OH my word this is a great sounding keyboard and easier than most to play and layer sounds and synth. We love it! we use it in a small church and it has made a tremendous difference in our music. The quality is amazing for the price and the keys feel real - a good weight and fit for our needs.Ver másVer menos

Outstanding midrange keyboard
Good: Just about everything. Physically solid, sits nicely on a standard X-style stand. Wide variety of voices, many of which are an absolute joy to listen to, even with my horrible playing. The keyboard has a natural, acoustic-piano feel to it; key action is smooth and solid, glissandos don't feel like you're about to break a finger as with some keyboards; velocity sensing sounds natural. Lots of bells and whistles (figuratively and literally) to play with and tweak up the canned voices. I count the lack of built-in speakers as a plus; this beast deserves good headphones and/or a good external amp instead of tinny, low-powered built-ins. Generally looks, feels, and sounds like it should cost more than it does.Bad: If anything, the keys seem to me to be a little *too* heavily weighted; this may well be more a reflection of my own lack of conditioning than anything else. Would be nice to have some dedicated preset buttons for voice changes instead of the rather awkward method used. Also, my stand has straps and bolts to secure an instrument to it. It looks like a standard method, but the MX88 makes no provision for such. Mind you, the keyboard rests well on the stand, and I don't plan on channeling Keith Emerson any time soon, but accidents do happen.Ugly: Nothing; a very attractive and professional-looking instrument.Bottom line: After being away from keyboards for 30-odd years, I wanted something I could grow (back) into. I found it. The minuses above are nit-picks; this is an outstanding instrument for the price. Five stars.Ver másVer menos

Perfect Pro Keyboard
After my previous keyboard bit the dust, I was in the market for a new one.I was looking for 2 main things.1. Something I could play live music with.2. A keyboard I could use as a midi controller for recording. After doing a ton of research and testing one of these at a local store, I decided to pull the trigger.Needless to say, I’m glad I did. I’ve only had it for a couple months, but it is everything I wanted. The same quality and realistic instrument sounds are amazing. The weighted keys feel really good. The look and design are aesthetically pleasing.I’m not sure if I would be happier with a different keyboard in any price range.Note: if you are looking for a home keyboard to learn play piano, or for your kids to learn, keep in mind this doesn’t have built in speakers, so you’ll need an amp.Ver másVer menos

Great 88 key synth for the money
If you want an 88 key synth that covers piano, organ, and various synth sounds, and you have around a grand, your main choices are this and the Roland Juno DS. The 88 key Juno DS is a few hundred dollars more. I preferred the sounds in the MX88, but not by much - they both sound great. But let's keep it real - the MX88 is capable of much more than the interface allows. Beginners might not need more than 1 layer or split, but you can't do it on the MX88... unless you connect it to a computer, and then you can. This keyboard really needed more controls to take true advantage of what it can do. Use a computer to unlock its true power. Despite this, it's the least expensive great sounding 88 key synth out there and I'd buy it again.Ver másVer menos
