Worked Great for 5-10 Year Olds at Birthday Party
My daughter wanted to have some kind of wooden toy building kit for her 10th birthday party, so we needed 12 items for a mix of boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 10. I was amazed at how expensive many wooden toy kits are, despite many poor reviews talking about them falling apart, having cracked wood pieces, etc.Then I saw these 3 packs from Melissa and Doug. I've found they typically have good products, and these definitely added to that good reputation!Each vehicle in the pack of 3 is a self contained unit with everything you'll need - glue, paint, brush, stickers. The vehicles were easy to assemble, and the stickers were a nice addition to the paint because the younger children who weren't as good at the painting could just put stickers on and have a pretty good looking result.The glue that came with them is just Elmer's. We did have to glue the wheels first, then wait while that dried before painting and putting stickers on. Fortunately, the party was long enough for all that. If you have a shorter time frame, you might want to pre-glue the wheels.As a bonus, since each kit comes packed in it's own wooden tray, it was easy to send each kid home with left over paint/stickers and their toy, even though the paint wasn't dry yet.
