Mommy and toddler agree: awesome alphabet!!
Hape toys are NOT available where I live...and I've always liked them. Then, when I found this puzzle on Amazon, I ordered it right away! My 2-year-old is in the process of learning her letters, and I wanted a puzzle where the letters took "center stage" instead of all the usual animals, designs, etc. that go with these types of puzzles. This puzzle comes through with that! The letters are all hand-painted, and the spaces they fit in are shaped for each one. There are no distracting designs, etc. anywhere on the board, so the child can focus on the letters. My toddler just lit up when she saw this puzzle, and immediately started asking me to open it for her. She took each letter and stood them up, then lined them up, then put them into their appropriate spaces. Some reviews said that the letters "C" and "O" are subtly flattened on one end so that they have to fit a certain way -- ours went in upside down, but they still look like the letter, so I don't see a problem with that. I did like that the "H" and the "I", as well as the "M" and the "W" are actually recognizable and will not fit in each other's spaces. Well done, Hape. The letters are small, so I would recommend that this stay with a 2 year old, supervised if he/she is still putting things in his/her mouth, or a 3 year old (still with supervision, of course, just in case). How small? About the size of a camcorder's battery, or 1/3 the size of a digital camera. I'm sure it's all wood construction, and these just feel good to handle...sure to be something that can be passed down. Highly recommended!Ver másVer menos
