A Force To Contend With: EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti SC
First off do your homework when it comes to replacing an essential piece of your computer. I havebeen using this graphics card for a year now without any glitches and it was due to a weeks worthof research prior to purchasing a new graphics card. It was worth the time to find this card.My requirements were to find an upgraded card for a 5 year old Dell computer that would installeasily, with 2GB of RAM minimum, provide improved graphics, work with a 4K monitor, capable ofa 144hz Screen Refresh Rate and not be a burden on my old 350 watt power supply.--- The Computer in Question ------------------------------------------------------:: Dell Studio XPS 8100 w/ Intel i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20 Ghz.:: ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Card w/ 1GB GDDR5 Graphics RAM:: 8 GB DDR3-SDRAM Memory:: 350W Power Supply:: PCI Express 2.1 Bus Interface:: Windows 7 ProWell, I found it. Using the web I was able to find sites that listed cards meeting the requirementslisted in the second paragraph. I did not find many cards that would fit an old desktop. I also usedsearch engines to look through forums to find others who had replaced the graphics card in theirDell XPS 8100. This graphics card came highly recommended by forum users.The EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti SC with 2 GB of on-board GDDR5 RAM is a terrific upgrade. Thismodel, "SC" does NOT run off the Power Supply so there is less of a burden on the computer. It onlyuses 60 watt of power obtained through the PCI-E connection. It is a lot shorter than the card I replaced anda lot quieter too! What a boon that was; it seemed, when playing World of Tanks, the two fans fromthe ATI Radeon were constantly running. They were noisy even prior to the on-line game going HiDef.I would not have been able to play in HD if not for the 750Ti SC card. The graphics are sweet with the4K Asus monitor I purchased a few months later that works so well with this card.If you have any questions please refer to the web page Customer Questions & Answers section. Thereis a lot of great information that users have posted; 700 questions and answers.I give this card 5 stars because it does what it is supposed to do, and very well, with a minimum of hasslefor my aging computer system. This is a good deal for the price point with the improved performance thatI have squeezed out of my old system. Well worth the moola I spent on it.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOTE: I have definitely improved the FPS on World of Tanks; which just recently went High Definition.The frame rate will run anywhere from 50 to 80 fps, more than adequate. It used to run between the low30s to the low 50s, prior to the Hi-Def, so there was a decent bump from the card.
