Good Investment for Crocheters with Wrist Pain
These are very nice hooks! I was searching for ergonomic hooks to help with pain crocheting (carpal tunnel and joint pain). After some research, saw this brand was recommended by a crocheter I follow for tutorials. Just to be sure (before I plunked down this kind of money hooks), I ordered a 10.5 to try out. Tulip Needle Company Tulip Etimo Rose Crochet Hook, 10.5/6.5mm, knowing that it wasn't included in this set so if I got this, it would extend it. I loved it!Pros: No pain when using these hooks (knife holder). Yarn glides easily, no issues with splitting. It goes through the yarn like butter but most importantly, I don't get wrist pain so can crochet much, much longer without getting tired or having to stop. The handle material is soft and pleasant to touch, and the pinks are very, very pretty. The case is well made and pretty as well. It feels solid and I expect both the case the the hooks to last many years.Cons: The "neck" part of the needle is not overly long, which could be an issue depending on what kind of work you're doing. The sizes are very easy to read, but are on a sticker instead of stamped into the hook. The stickers don't seem like they're about to come off, but it would have been nicer to have the sizes embedded. I would have liked the case to accommodate an extra hook or two to add my previous purchase, although I usually have one out with my current work in progress. It was also challenging for me to spend this much money on hooks - I had to consider it an investment in my health because of pain issue to justify it.I cannot compare it to Clover Armour because I don't have any. I wanted to get one set of awesome hooks instead of several sets of good ones trying to find the right fit. I am pleased with this choice and gave a similar set to my daughter for her crochet. If you're not sure or have never used these, I'd suggest buying a single hook first to see if you like it.
