  A very good pair of shoes

  This review is for Florsheim Men's Berkley Penny Loafer,Black,12 E Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc. I delayed buying these a few months based on some of the reviews. You have to be wary of copies and knock offs of reliable products. I've been wearing a version of this shoe since about 1969. The pair i just received is consistence with all of the previous pairs I've bought. These have always been my primary shows -- not reserved for special occasions and I have walked more miles in these shoes than most people have walked miles. I have never (prematurely) worn a hole in the sole of any of them. I have never had the top stitching fail, although if rubbed against the desk or office chair a lot, I expect it would. These are not "normal shoes." They have a life of their own that they will share with you, for years, if you treat them right. When you get them, polish them with a good paste polish. But wear some other shoes when you go fishing. :)Revised 5-28-2019: After wearing these shoes for over 6 months they honestly look and feel better than when they were new. I can't believe some of the reviews. They must be working for a competitor of something. These are very good shoes. Florsheim is best IMO, which is why I have worn them for decades.   Loafer was delivered sooner than expected. These shoes are well made and excellent quality. I can use them with casual or business wear. I am very happy with these shoes. One word of caution, when I received the shoes I tried them on with heavy dress socks. Big mistake on my part because the shoes were too tight. I immediately placed an order for refund and printed return label. I thought about my disappointment because I really wanted a pair of high quality black loafers. Then it dawned on me to try them on with light weight dress socks. And then wham, bang, thank you ma'am, PERFECT FIT. I am so pleased now with this purchase. I canceled the refund and return order.   Great Quality and Design.

  Perfect Shoes, a litte tight at the heel but still fine for me, it is ok since they are new I think. The feet are very weel supported so there's no way to get tired with these shoes. The Flrosheim's quality and design are quite good!, Thank You.

  Liked the fit and basically the fit

  Wore these to work (desk job, very little walking) for two days. Halfway through the second day I took one of them off to look at them and noticed that the first stitch on the top of the shoe that secures the roll on the side of the show was broken. Liked the fit and basically the fit, but disappointed in the workmanship. This is the tried pair of Florsheims I have owned and liked them enough to try an upscale pair. Returned and ordered a different shoe from a different manufacturer.Ver másVer menos

  Well made, but strange sizing

  I ordered a pair of these same loafers in burgundy, also size 8, and they fit just fine. However, the black pair, also supposedly size 8, were a bit large -- not uncomfortably so, but noticeably larger than the burgundy pair, even though both pairs were supposed to be size 8 medium. I would say that the black pair felt as if they were a half-size larger than the burgundy. It was a bit surprising because I was expecting both pairs to feel pretty much the same size. I wonder if anyone else has had the same experience with these shoes.Ver másVer menos

  Perfect Loafer

  Fit as expected, leather was in very good condition and quality, stays snug on your foot. One thing i did notice is that the color varies. I ordered these shoes before and they came in a darker color.03/08/17 UPDATEStill have these shoes, still in perfect wearable condition. I dont wear these everyday and use them spearingly, but these are how shoes are supposed to be, long lasting and comfortable. I am adding pictures of how they look now, after years of use in dofferent textures (cement, grass, wood, etc). I still get plenty of compliments even after years of wear!Ver másVer menos
