From the palaces of Europe to the African AIDS hospitals you’ll fall in love with the journey of a great woman. Without sleep I read this book from midnight to 2:00pm I could not put this book down. This book could have received 5 star. Great book. Ended too abruptly. Leaves the reader hanging. Could have gone another chapter with her wedding. Catching persons planted bomb. Wedding and life for them over a year or two. Dissapointed Read more

It's a very lovely book.
I love the font cover picture they did a great job with it if you like Danielle Steel books you will like this one I've been wanting to get a hold of for long time it looks like it should be very interesting book she wants to a independent person but her father has her hole life planed out for her but that's not what she's wants she's wants live her life the she way wants be for her self as person do feel right for her self. The queen of fairytales!
Once upon a time there was a young princess in a small European country. Princess Christianna was beautiful, kind and intelligent, the perfect escort for her widowed father, Prince Hans Josef, at his numerous official functions. In spite of her youth, Princess Christianna as the First Lady of her country, did her duty with style, warmth and elegance. Dressed exquisitely, she opened hospitals and libraries. Visited old peoples' homes. She cut ribbons, held speeches and received bouquets of flowers. But, in truth, the Princess loved far more to play in the mud with her dog Charles, wearing jeans and no makeup. She longed to do something more worthwile than parading in couture clothes and looking lovely. Christianna had a gift. A gift which led her to join The International Red Cross as a voluntary aid and choose an entirely different path in life than the one she had been born to. I leave the rest to the reader. And it is an interesting read. Danielle Steel knows her facts both politically and socially. The International Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders. She takes us far away from the splendeour of the royal castle in Vaduz and glamourous couture ball gowns. Christianna does not look for love. Neither is there a prince travelling with a glass shoe searching for the one it will fit. But as in all fairytales there is love. And as in all fairytales involving a royal princess, there are obstacles. Is it unfair to new readers to reveal that they lived happily ever after? I don't think so. At least not to faithful Danielle Steel fans. All fairytales have a happy ending. This one is no exception. Danielle Steel has created a whole new literary genre with her authorship - well written, intelligent fairytales for grownups. As such she is a master. As such she deserves her five stars. Interesting but non enough
one. I was a bit disappointed with the book. A modern day princess wants to contribute something meaningful to the world by going to Africa and work as a Red Cross volunteer for a AIDS relief camp. She wants to do something more than just cut ribbons at openings and participate in state dinners. She gets an opportunity to really make a difference and to be treated like an ordinary woman. However, Danielle Steel repeats herself throughout the book which becomes somewhat distracting and annoying. And the resolution to Christianna's struggle is somewhat disappointing. It was almost as if Danielle Steel took an easy way out to end the book. I have to admit I was very disappointed. Like Like:1 Read moreVer másVer menos

True love
Amazing read. I would have liked the story had continued to a wedding and children but that's ok, she got her man. I would recommend this book to my family for a light story to read. Well done. Read more
