'Tis the season for a Halloween classic
I'm of the generation who watched a show Disney aired every Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. I think it was called The Wonderful World of Disney and it was a combination of things – like cartoons, wildlife segments, films, etc. Watching Disney on Sunday nights was a thing we did and then went to bed.I remember both of the films in this set being among the Sunday night selections with Jiminy Cricket as the emcee. My favorite is, of course, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, though not exactly true to the original tale by Washington Irving. But it works for kids and adults alike. My dad used to watch all of our shows with us, which is a nice memory from childhood. I also remember the baseball film about the Mighty Casey, which also aired in the time slot.The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is pretty cute and can really be viewed at any time. But the Legend of Sleepy Hollow is definitely a Halloween favorite that I still love to watch as an adult. Bing Crosby is the main voice/narration for this animated film and his voice is a real throwback to a specific time in my childhood so it's also nostalgic.The animation and sound of the Sleepy Hallow film is just as crisp and wonderful and magical now as it was when I was a kid. And there's some bonus features that are nice too, especially for modern kids seeing this for the first time.Recommend.Ver másVer menos
