Guide to rocks and minerals
I got this book to use for my kids for an earth science book in our homeschooling year next year. I liked that this book looks at gems, stones, minerals, and fossils all in one collection. That covers all the things my kids are interested in looking for. The author begins with what equipment you will need as well and how to rockhound safely and ethically. That is so important. The author includes with each item a full description, where it can be found, and a meaning of the specimen. I think this a really well done book.Ver másVer menos

Know your rocks
This book has some precious gems, a list, and how to recognize them. You will find out what geodes are and how to successfully break them. I liked the part about fossils and where you can find them. I have collected a few over the years from different places. It also lists the tools for collecting or they say rockhounding. This book has some great tips for the first time you go rockhounding. I really like the bright color pictures that shows the gems and different things. A good book for learning to rockhounding, or collect precious gems, minerals, crystals, and fossils.Ver másVer menos

nope... just no
this must have been written by someone in the 6th grade doing a report on rocks...or by ai.it is hardly a "bible" on the subject.it is lacking in so many ways.i highly recommend just googling the word "rocks" over buying this.
