Excellent Little Beginner Books, Especially for Princess Fans, Easy and Helpful!
This boxed set has been a fantastic transition of beginner books. If you have a kiddo who is excited about reading, especially a princess fan, these are a wonderful way to help them without feeling overwhelmed. The stories are short enough to keep younger readers engaged, and the colorful illustrations help keep them interested. My daughter has really enjoyed working through them, and been fun watching something that doesn't feel like a chore. The boxed set also helps keeps everything organized, which is always appreciated. All in all, it's a great value and an excellent choice for encouraging a little more reading. Definitely recommended!Ver másVer menos

Amazing!
If I could give these more than 5 stars I would. My daughter is in Kindergarten and learning sight words but had told me she “hates reading” and was being extremely obstinate any time I tried to get her to read with me. We had tried Bob Books, as those had been very successful with children I babysat years ago. She hated them. And no wonder, who wants to struggle to read books with no color that have no plot and no interesting characters? My daughter is not a huge Disney Princess fan, but I figured after seeing how she responded positively to a Step Into Reading Level 1 Rapunzel book that these might be a good choice. SO HAPPY!The sentences do have plenty of sight words and most are repetition-based with the similarly structured sentences on every page with only a few words or phrases changed. If you’re not an educator you might not see this as a plus. But it absolutely is because it enables the child to practice reading and recognizing the same patterns of words over and over again. Won’t they just memorize the sentence from the previous page? No. They can’t because the sentences are different and you can’t read the next page unless you know where the similarities start and end and you can’t know that without actually reading the sentence. For an advanced reader this is obvious, but for an early reader, not so much.The set also comes with 2 pages of Disney Princess stickers and a certificate. The way we used them is that after my daughter had read a book, she was able to choose one of the stickers (usually she chose the one that matched the princess in the book) and place it on the inside cover. After she had completed all of them once, we filled out the certificate, laminated it, and now she proudly has it displayed in her bedroom!She loves the books so much that she has continued to read them and stick more stickers in the inside covers. It makes her feel proud and shows how many times she’s read each book. Eventually we’ll run out of stickers and that’s fine.Now she says “I love reading! Reading is my favorite thing to do!” Ahh, how quickly things change. Certainly not going to remind her than not long ago she’s was insisting that she hated reading. I am so happy with this set and so proud of my child. I wish they had more sets.Overall, I highly recommend this purchase if your child is reading-ready (5-ish) and likes princesses. This set truly helped my child develop a love of reading. What more could a parent want? Buy this set.Ver másVer menos

Perfect first reader set
Ordered because my daughter is going in from kindergarten to first grade. She already knows how to read. She loves Disney princesses. These are perfect there’s one maybe two sentences on a page. The only words she ever needed help with were names; I highly recommend for anyone who’s just starting off as a beginner reader. Pretty Good
I purchased this set for my twin daughters who just finished kindergarten this year. One of them is much more confident with reading than the other. So far, they have enjoyed these books a lot because they love Disney princesses. The text is fairly simple, but I do think some words are too hard for young readers. I was hoping these would have more decodables/words they can easily sound out. For example, I think the word "musicians" is a little hard for kids first learning to read and can't really be sounded out. Otherwise, the text is simple, and is pretty repetitive, and they overall feel pretty confident reading these. If your kid likes Disney princesses and you're looking for an inexpensive set of easy ready books, I say get these knowing that you'll likely have to help with with some words!Ver másVer menos

I want to be a Disney Princess Reader Too!
My children love this set! The pictures are mesmerizing and captivating. The stories are fresh and new. The characters are familiar and exciting to read about. The stories are developmentally appropriate. We love the certificate and stickers as well. They are a great reward system for reading the books. I will be getting all levels because I am a big kid at heart and shant dare allow my own princesses to go without these Disney Princess Reading Adventure Sets!Ver másVer menos
