A marvelous story!!
Marina, by Zafón is one of those stories that when started wakens the curiosity and keeps one reading. It is written in excellent Spanish, and Zafón takes the reader into a fantastic world of intrigue. Marina is laden with mystery which leads the reader to live alongside the protagonists and actually visualize what is taking place and where everything is occurring. The vivid descriptions of the Barcelona of olden times gives the reader a historical view of what once was and how great it was.I do recommend a good command of the Spanish language if Marina is read in Spanish because no translation will do it justice.
