A Quick Note About Reviews With Photos
I noticed that the reviews seem to be aimed at various different iterations of the story, which I find confusing for buyers. Given that, please be aware that I'm reviewing the book that I bought from this particular listing (pictured). I made the mistake of trusting some of the pictures in a few reviews, thinking that what I was seeing would be in this particular book. Don't get me wrong, I love the illustrations in the book I bought, but I admit to being a little disappointed that I didn't get to see the drawings from certain reviews. Please be wary of photos so that you don't make the same mistake I did.I don't regret my purchase. The cover and illustrations are beautiful. I didn't grow up with the book. Instead, I watched the heck out of the 1974 musical film adaptation, which came on TV every once in awhile in the 80s. It played a huge part in shaping how my young mind viewed the world, morals, ethics, and, more importantly, that never letting go of childlike wonder in adulthood is important. At 44, I still value that ideal. My motto in life has been the fox's main quote in the wheat fields. It's one of my most cherished movies.Given that, I've been looking for a solid edition of the book for years so that I can experience where it all started. Considering how crazy short it is, I look forward to reading it all in less than a day. I'll try to read as slowly as possible in order to absorb everything as intended. This book is a welcomed addition to my bookshelves.Ver másVer menos
