Great Support For Supervised Walks
I have been using this knee brace for my small dog’s hind leg for a few weeks now, primarily for short walks around the neighborhood and indoor activities under supervision. My dog started favoring one side and was slower moving than usual, so I needed a support that wouldn’t restrict natural movement. It took some getting used to for us both, but I’ve found that the brace works best if you think of it as support, not as something that’s going to give you instant dramatic results. Getting the fit just right took a little patience at first. I didn’t tighten it up right away; I just put it on loosely, watched my dog’s posture and gait, and made small adjustments until the brace was sitting where it should, without interfering with his natural stride. The small size fit my dog well, but measuring is important because the brace needs to be in the right place for the right support. I would not suggest you go solely by your dog's weight to choose a size. My dog was initially suspicious of the brace and would sometimes lift his leg as if something foreign were attached to it. I introduce the brace to him in a quiet indoor setting before we try it outside. The first few sessions were very short; I’d take the brace off after just a few minutes. For a few days he paid less attention to the brace and was eventually able to walk about the house normally with it on. I took it slow, and it was much easier to get used to the brace than trying it out before a long walk. My dog needs to maintain a moderate pace and avoid sudden running or rough play, but the brace makes controlled walks much easier. It's also great for supervised indoor activities, especially when the dog gets up or moves between rooms. Once you get used to the process, putting the brace on is easier.Ver másVer menos
