Drops to open in a second!

Use it more than expected
I bought this for myself and have been really happy with it. I wasn’t sure how much I would actually use it, but it’s been really convenient for taking photos and videos without having to ask someone else or try to balance my phone somewhere. The auto-open feature makes setup quick, the remote connected easily, and I like that it can be used as both a selfie stick and a tripod. I’m reviewing the 2026 Auto-Open Aluminum Selfie Stick with Remote. As a professional photographer who has shot photos for a publication, including most of our living presidents and several prominent politicians, I own professional gear. This tripod is a complete departure from my usual equipment. I ordered it for fun or to use with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. I planned to use it for selfies, outdoor family pictures, and similar situations.I appreciate the compact design. It can easily fit in a backpack, tote, laptop bag, or similar items. However, it takes some force to extend it fully, but I’m sure it will loosen up and become easier to use over time. I’m not a fan of the automatic opening feature, but I’m hoping I’ll get used to it.The full height of the tripod is approximately six feet. It comes with a remote that nests into one of the tripod legs and a USB-C cord for charging. While this is convenient, it could also be a disadvantage because it seems easy to lose the remote if it bumps against something.It is easy to pair via Bluetooth and take pictures. If I can do, you can do it!I intended to use this tripod outdoors for trips and to take pictures of my family with beautiful landscapes in the background. However, I’m not sure how much I will do that, or if I will do it. The tripod legs sit close together for how tall this thing is. While this may be secure enough indoors, I feel this tripod could easily topple over outside, resulting in the loss of my expensive camera or iPhone. I would never use the cold shoe for one of my DSLR’s or mirrorless cameras; with a lens and camera body, it’s not worth the risk. These are investments. This tripod simply isn’t sturdy enough. Not to mention, the cold shoe itself is cheaply made. If you’re looking for a selfie stick, this one will suffice. If you are looking for something to use indoors this will probably work just fine. However, if you’re planning to take family pictures outdoors, it might not be the best choice. In my opinion, there are better options available.At the time of my review, this tripod was priced at $32.99. I’ve come across tripods on social media that are even cheaper and offer automatic user tracking. You might be able to find a better deal at this price point or something sturdier.Ver másVer menos

Fun and portable selfie stick/tripod for your phone
I’m always on the lookout for new selfie and tripod sticks. You never know which one will be the best fit! Each one has its own strengths and weaknesses.This selfie stick/tripod is a blast to use. You can gently tap it on the ground, and it pops open! You can easily open and close it with just one hand, and it opens super quickly. It holds my IPhone 17 pro max no problem with a case on it.The material is solid plastic. I gave the legs and supports a good tug, and they felt firm. Nothing bent or twisted when I did. The legs are a decent thickness, and it extends up to about 67 inchesehich is a pretty good height. It might not be the sturdiest tripod at that height, but as long as you’re on flat ground and using the remote, it should work well in most situations. It’s not the best on uneven ground. It’s ok in light wind, but anymore than that, you feel it. I’d use it more as a monopod in those situations. At that height, it’s more of a selfie stick.It comes with a remote that lets you take longer exposures or Live Photos without the stick moving. I really like that the remote clicks onto the stick; it makes it easier to keep track of it and not lose it. It also has an adapter to screw a small camera onto, but since it doesn’t have a place on the stick, I’m sure I’ll lose it. I probably wouldn’t use this for a camera anyway.My main worry is how long the legs will last when you click them open and closed. It might break eventually, or it might not. It seems sturdy and well-made, but any part that clicks on and off has a limit. I hope it lasts a long time. Another small issue is that it takes a bit of force to open this stick all the way. That’s good for keeping it open, but it does require a bit of strength to do so.Even with these minor issues, I still love this. Excellent tripod that fits a ton of features into a small, affordable package!
I love this tripod!!Just tap it on the ground and the legs are out and it is ready to go. I've been using it with my new phone for astrophotography and it works a charm, and while I haven't really needed the quick setup (as in the case where something is happening and I wish to catch it quickly) being able to set it up almost instantly is still awesome - and I'm glad the capability is there for when I need it.It extends to eye-level which is also great, so product shots and group photos will be a cinch; and when everything is collapsed it becomes surprisingly compact, and can easily be tucked away into just a small bit of storage.The holder grips my phone good and tight (with the case, I haven't tried it without as my phone protector is a bit of a pain to take on and off - but I can see no reason it wouldn't work great sans-case as well), and being able to turn it between portrait and landscape without removing the phone makes switching modes super simple.The included remote works without issue and is very easy to take off and on, and use (just one button to press and a USB-C charging receptacle), and the cold shoe and 1/4-inch screw are useful additions for anyone wanting to attach a light, mic or cam, rather than being locked into using it only one way.A couple of minor caveats - pulling it out to extend can take a bit of elbow-grease, and at least the first time I tried to use the quick open it didn't work properly (but rectified itself once I got it open and closed again a couple times using my hands) - and if you aren't careful when you close it you can pinch your fingers pretty good; but so long as you're watching what you're doing, there shouldn't be an issue (though if you have kids I could see them pinching their fingers if they aren't careful, so I wouldn't let them play with it).For only 20 dollars for a combination selfie stick, phone tripod and adjustable recording stand in one fairly small package, I think this is an absolutely phenomenal deal; (and the stupidly fun pop-open mechanism still makes me grin whenever I use it lol).Ver másVer menos

Stable Tripod With a Stubborn Extension
If you’re looking for a selfie stick/tripod combo, this one is pretty useful but with a few quirks worth knowing. The detachable remote is really great to have. It snaps right into the handle so you don’t lose it, pairs instantly, and makes taking photos so much easier whether you’re using it as a tripod or holding it like a regular selfie stick. In handheld mode, the remote sits right under your finger so you’re not awkwardly reaching around to hit the shutter.Setup is mostly straightforward. You drop it on the ground and the legs pop open automatically, which is neat, but the 1 second setup claim is definitely exaggerated. The legs do open instantly, but extending the pole takes more effort than it should. You really have to pull hard to get it fully extended, and younger kids or seniors may not be able to open it all the way. At one point, the legs snapped shut while I was pulling it open and pinched my hand, so now I'm careful about where I grip it during setup.Once it’s up, though, it’s nice and solid. The aluminum alloy stick feels stable and the anti-slip feet keep it steady on uneven ground. My phone clipped in easily, and the clamp has cushioned grips that protect the edges while still holding tight enough that I never worried about it falling out. The head rotates 360° and tilts up and down, so getting the right angle is simple whether you’re shooting a video, group photo, or just messing around.It also comes with a 1/4" screw for mounting a small camera which is handy, although unlike the remote, it doesn’t store inside the stick so I’m fully expecting to lose it eventually. The whole thing folds down to a compact size and weighs under a pound, making it easy to toss in a bag.Overall, it’s a great tool for everyday photos, travel, or filming content.
