Fun and easy read
I started this book on a Tuesday morning and finished it by the afternoon. I was hooked in the first 30 pages and found the idea of astrology and super powers enjoyable. The story was easy to follow, with the exception of tracking the various astrological signs with the accompanying super powers. However, the author makes it clear this is the first book in a series, so I do not have an issue with this as I expect the series to provide more clarity on this topic. The writing was descriptive and painted a picture as I read. At first, it’s believed the Kindred are the “good guys” and the Eighth House are the “bad guys”. But by the end of the book the reader is left not knowing which side to choose. It’s fascinating and leaves the reader wanting more; which is a salute to the author as he sets up the series.Would recommend for an easy, entertaining read that transports you to another world for an afternoon.Ver másVer menos

Unique read - Fantasy, Spice and everything not so nice…
Looking for a story to have a bit of everything, then I’d recommend this book. The story is unique but modern being told from a dual perspective of both protagonists, the journey encapsulates romance, agony, murder and fantasy and much much more. An easy read that will ultimately motivate you to finish it quickly not only from the appealing content but with its twists and turns along the way. It was quite the change of pace from my usual reads and I’m very happy I had this author a shot, well written and nice fresh take on a good story, eager to see how the journey continues in the next book!Ver másVer menos

A bold, entertaining start to a series
Jameson’s debut novel under his own name kicks off The Eighth House series with a mix of gritty urban fantasy, zodiac-infused magic, and magnetic romantic tension. If you enjoy stories where astrology isn’t just personality fluff but an actual source of dangerous power this one delivers an intriguing new take. The dual POV structure works well, letting readers sit with both Piper’s vulnerability and self-discovery and Trey’s guarded intensity. Jameson does a solid job balancing high-stakes suspense, shifting allegiances, and betrayal with character-driven emotional arcs. the world-building around the astrology-based magic system is fresh and creative i.e. your sun sign as a literal weapon rather than a horoscope cliche is a highlight that keeps things unpredictable. The world-building, while original, dumps a fair amount of information early on, though it smooths out as the plot accelerates.I’m genuinely looking forward to the second book to see how the universe and characters evolve. Jameson has carved out a distinctive corner in the genre, hoping the series keeps building momentum.Ver másVer menos

Couldn’t put it down!
Gemini Gemini is a unique and entertaining crossing of astrology, crime, and the supernatural. Taking place in the modern world, there is a secret reality hidden in plain sight - one where the zodiacs battle it out over good vs evil. Main characters Trey and Piper connect in unlikely circumstances and find themselves in the middle of this secret circle, whether they like it or not.The Kindred and Eighth House, along with their elusive members, will have you questioning who are the actual good guys. People who know nothing about astrology will still enjoy this series and astrology lovers can geek out over it.I’m looking forward to continuing the series as this author releases more!Ver másVer menos

Strong Performance, Mixed Execution
Gemini Gemini shows a lot of potential, particularly in its creative world-building and unpredictable plot. E.C. Jameson sets a great pace, but the execution of the characters needs more maturity. Between the clumsy spicy scenes and a writing style that felt a bit young for the age of the protagonists, it was difficult to stay fully immersed. I also found the disparity in how men and women were described to be a bit off-putting. Narrators Maeve York and Walker Williams both did a great job with the performance, but unfortunately, I just couldn’t connect with the characters themselves. That said, the story finds its footing in the second half as Piper develops more personality, and the cliffhanger was effective enough to make me curious about where the sequel goes.Ver másVer menos

Must read!!
Put this on your next read list ASAP! The plot is like nothing I’ve read before - truly unique but captivating and keeps you curious from beginning to end. The characters are refreshingly relatable, and there’s humor, mystery and romance all in one. You won’t be able to put this one down - it leaves you craving more! Can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!!Ver másVer menos

Sequel can't come soon enough
This book is intriguing, and I ended up reading it in a little over a day. The dynamic between Piper and Trey is great, and the storyline is fast-paced and unpredictable. Set in modern day Atlanta, which was coincidentally fun for me. It felt both gripping and realistic. It kept me guessing the whole way, and the ending asked more questions than it answered. Be warned, it does end on a cliffhanger, but I can't wait for the sequel.Ver másVer menos
