Superb color and picture, beautiful TV

Have had this for about a month now, purchased from Amazon. This is an excellent TV, it replaced our 15-year old Panasonic Viera plasma which is still working perfectly. Durability is one reason I purchased this TV, I expect it to last a long time. The picture quality and color reproduction are top class. Not oversaturated like some other brands. I mostly leave the TV set to Filmmaker mode and have not felt the need for finer adjustments. It is connected to an Apple TV for everything so I don't use the TV's interface at all - so can't speak to how good or bad it is. Sound quality is also very good. I already had a soundbar so I am using it, but the TV by itself seems good enough for most people.It is extremely heavy and needed a lot of care to unpack and handle. The TV looks robust and well built, the remote could have been a bit nicer. But then, I mostly use the Apple TV remote for everything anyway.Our living room is quite bright and this TV is not the brightest so sometimes we do need to draw the curtains for daytime viewing. I noticed that setting the Apple TV for Dolby Vision output and leaving the TV in AI picture mode makes it brighter.Overall, very pleased with it so far. The price was lower than almost any other comparable TV of the same size, which makes it even nicer.Ver más

Reference-Level Picture Quality with Surprisingly Good Built-in Audio

I spent a long time researching flagship OLED TVs before buying this one, and it has exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is outstanding, with deep blacks, incredible contrast, and some of the most natural colors I've seen. Panasonic's image processing really shines with both movies and streaming content.One surprise was the built-in speakers. Until my home theater equipment arrives, I've been relying on the TV's audio, and it's much better than I expected. Dialogue is clear, there's decent bass for a TV, and it easily outperforms most flat-panel TVs I've heard.Gaming has also been excellent. The TV is responsive, supports modern gaming features, and looks fantastic whether I'm watching YouTube, Netflix, or playing games.The build quality feels premium, and wall mounting was straightforward. If you're someone who values accurate picture quality over overly saturated colors, this TV delivers.The only minor downside is that some picture settings (such as YouTube's Ambient mode) are more limited than on other inputs, but that's a software quirk rather than a flaw with the panel itself.Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. It's an outstanding flagship OLED that deserves more attention and competes with the very best TVs available today.Ver más

Worth Every Penny – The Best TV I've Ever Owned!

Even though I actually purchased mine from another retailer, I had been following this Amazon listing for months while doing my research. I read countless reviews before finally deciding to buy it, so I wanted to come back and leave my own experience for anyone who's still on the fence.All I can say is... wow!The picture quality is incredible. The OLED blacks are truly black, the colors look natural, and the level of detail is amazing. Movies in Dolby Vision look fantastic, and gaming on my PS5 Pro has been an incredible experience. Games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Spider-Man 2 look absolutely stunning.The built-in sound system also surprised me. I was expecting to eventually need a soundbar, but the TV's speakers are much better than I expected and provide a very immersive experience.I was nervous when my TV arrived because the shipping box had a puncture on the back, but thankfully the TV itself was completely untouched. After thoroughly testing the panel for dead pixels, uniformity, HDR, and overall picture quality, everything turned out perfect.This TV was the result of months of research comparing different OLED and Mini LED models, and I can honestly say I have zero regrets. Every time I turn it on, I'm reminded why I chose it.If you're considering this TV and picture quality is important to you, I highly recommend it. A real Steal for a High End OLED

1st, I love Panasonic tvs. Love that they are back in the US.2. Im going to be honest. So let's startMy last 2 tvs were a TCL 6 series and Hisense U8QG. Both mini-leds. Both fantastic in their own ways, especially in terms of brightness and gaming features, they have Panasonic beat. But, BUT this OLED, does NOT have MLA and is still very bright in it's own right. The processing & the 3D-like realism and depht, beats both TCL and Hisense handily and gives Sony a major run for their money in terms of processing. This is a VERY colorful, detailed, sharp and bright tv. Great picture quality, arguably the best. Sounds quality and fidelity are great on this TV. Technics speakers. Just a great tv for movies, documentaries, tv series and older media (the upscaling is a 9 out of 10). Streams media content great, very little mackerel blocking.What I don't like is the remote (like everyone else). I hate there's no input buttons.The FireTv OS isn't bad but coming from Google TV On the TCL and Hisense, is a bit of difference. Being able to control the sound output from the tv or surround sound, I miss that. Plus their are more ads and a few less streaming apps some might use.Of course lastly, gaming.....i hate, like most there's only two, HDMI 2.1 ports and one is the ERAC. I had to buy a 2.1 switch (which actually works great, not missing any quality) for my PS5 and XBOX series X. It was a inconvenience. However, the gaming......is still great. I'll say it rivals LG and Samsung OLEDs in terms of gaming features and performance. You don't lose or sometimes, any brightness in gaming and the quality is very sharp and detailed. But....you'll still need a HDMI 2.1 SWITCH if you have both consoles or a PC.OVERALL, this tv was a steal and deal at 1500. I HIGHLY recommend this TV. Again not the brightest but it is plenty bright. The processing, upscaling, detail, sound and color makes this TV an absolute steal. If this cost the same as a high end Mini-Led like TCL's QM8, Hisense U8QG, Sony Bravia 7 Or Samsung QN90F.....but this TV. It won't be as bright or have 3 or 4 HDMI 2.1 ports but it more than makes up for it. It gets 4 out of 5 stars only because of the remote, lack of more 2.1 ports and the FireTV is behind GoogleTV.Ver más

The absolute best bang for your buck today!

I've had the Panasonic Z8BA for about a month and a half now, and it's been everything I was hoping for and more! After years of sticking with my old Panny plasma TV while waiting for OLEDs to become more affordable (relatively speaking), I'm so glad I waited and got this set instead of the LG B5/C5 that I was originally thinking of getting around Black Friday. For the price ($1,499 at time of purchase), you just cannot beat the quality and performance for a TV of this size range. The B5 is the only other 77 inch OLED at this price point, and the Z8BA absolutely blows it out of the water when it comes to picture quality, sound and features.Set up was quick and simple once we got the TV unboxed and attached to the stand. One note of caution as some others have already mentioned: this TV is HEAVY! It's a minimum 2 person job, probably 3 if you're planning on wall mounting it. The item descriptions on here and other sites say its under 70lbs with stand, and they are WAY off! The TV itself is nearly 100lbs according to the user manual, and the stand adds another 15 lbs.Right out of the box the Z8BA just pops off the screen visually. I'm using a Roku 4K Ultra for my streaming apps so the built-in Fire TV isn't really an issue, and the Dolby Vision / HDR support is top notch. I haven't really messed around too much with the different picture settings, I found that Cinema works just fine for most viewing situations like live TV or movies, and turning off the AI frame generation "smoothing" makes for a much more natural presentation, especially when watching anything that's animated. Gaming is outstanding on this set, it upscales 1080p consoles like the Switch and PS4 incredibly well, and even some of the older consoles I've hooked up to it like the Xbox 360 look like they've been given a new lease on life!One very minor complaint is that when playing media off of a USB stick for example, the built-in media app does not support all the different video formats, and sometimes even MP4 files will not play depending on the codecs that were used to create them, but again I can just get around this issue by using the Roku's media player or simply hooking up my laptop to the TV. The included remote is fine and does the job well enough though I do sometimes wish it had a dedicated input button, but it's the most minor of complaints I could have, it's literally just an extra press of a button.The audio quality for built-in speakers is outstanding and also part of the reason why this TV weighs a ton, along with the overall build quality. This was was also a big factor in my purchase as I did not want to spend another $200-$300 on a sound bar just to have halfway decent audio.I really wish Panasonic's OLED TVs were available in brick and mortar stores like Best Buy because seeing is believing, and they'd easily give LG and Samsung a run for their money when compared side by side. I've been a loyal customer since the days of their Viera plasma sets, and I'm so glad they finally re-entered the market here in the US just I was getting ready to replace our now 18 (!) years old 50 inch Viera, which is sadly on its way out. Can't say I didn't get my money's worth from it, and hopefully I'll be enjoying the Z8BA for years to come.

Panasonic just made a new fan with this OLED!

When I decided to upgrade my 42" LED TV this year and chose the Panasonic Z8BA, I had hoped I'd be really pleased with the picture and sound. I didn't expect to use words like "stunning", "stellar", or "jaw-dropping"... but here we are. It's seriously that good!It's hard to know where to start when reviewing a TV, so I'll hit some high points. I believe Panasonic is currently the only TV brand on the market to support both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and you really see it when it kicks into gear. It feels like the TV is suddenly painting with such a wider array of colors. (The photo of the zebra I'm attaching was from YouTube in Dolby Vision.) It also handles standard HDR super-well. (The photos from Corpse Bride were from a 4k Blu Ray disc in standard HDR, but were some of the prettiest visuals I've seen on it yet.) It also makes HD (1080p) look outstanding when it upscales, and it's sometimes indistinguishable from native 4k content. The only thing I've thrown at it that it struggles with a little is SD (480p and below like DVDs) -- more on that later. The brightness is also excellent and should not be a problem unless you have this TV setting in a fundamentally silly amount of direct, unfiltered sunlight. (And even then, it might be okay. This thing can get VERY bright when it wants/needs to!)The sound is also fantastic on this TV, with effectively a built-in front-facing soundbar that replicates the feel of a much bigger system. You can add an optional stand-alone subwoofer, but I don’t know that it's necessary.The Fire TV operating system is okay. I came to this TV as a Roku fan and will be buying one to add to it, but Fire does contain a lot of the same good stuff and is very zippy to navigate. I imagine I will start using both in the future and will just swap between them. The build quality of the remote control is "okay" too. I do appreciate its solid click feel which pairs nicely with the zippiness of Fire TV, but I wish the remote had more traction on the bottom and some curve to indicate the top of the remote from the bottom by feel.In terms of build and size, this TV is definitely solid and should last a very long time, but be advised that it is LARGE and HEAVY. I was shocked at the gargantuan size of the cardboard TV box (packaged for safe shipping, thankfully) and the weight of the TV. I strongly recommend lining up a buddy with a good back to help you unbox it and place it on its final perch. The OLED screen may be thin, but thanks mostly to the sound system and metal stand, it weighs easily 80-100 pounds and is awkward to lift due to its size. On the plus side, I love that it has a central stand (like a computer monitor) rather than legs. It means you don't have to find a super-wide console to place it on -- just something wide enough to fit the central stand.As more of a quirk than a negative, I do find that swapping between Panasonic's different picture presets for different kinds of content is both rewarding and important to get the best picture experience with this television. Whenever it swaps itself into Dolby Vision, HDR10+, or HDR, leave that alone and trust the TV and let it do its thing. When watching most movies made after 1970, I prefer "Cinema" mode with the motion smoothing (under "Motion"-->"Intelligent Frame Creation") set to "Min". This negates "soap opera effect" smoothing for the most part while still reducing choppiness where it's natively bad, and it looks very crisp with great contrasts. For older movies, go with "Filmmaker Mode". For sports and nature documentaries, go with the "Auto AI" preset. And for anime, cartoons, and most video gaming, go with "Normal" mode with "Intelligent Frame Creation" (under "Motion") adjusted down to "None". For anime in particular, the colors will be delightfully vibrant while remaining accurate and not blown-out.Now to discuss for SD content, this TV's one minor weakness. I suspect that the main issue is that between stretching a 480 pixel image onto a 4k OLED, and the TV's huge screen size of 77", there was no way that it won't start exposing all of the source material's flaws... but this is a thing. SD cartoons often show artifacts, and SD video often shows either artifacts or "color crush". The best way I have found around this is to go with one of the darker picture presets; it hides many of those artifacts while keeping the color natural. I went with the "Professional 2" picture preset, adjusted the sharpness to 10, and adjusted the brightness (luminance) to 50. The end result probably isn't as great as on an older TV display this type of signal was originally planned for, but it isn't half-bad and looks solid. Again, though, I suspect most people aren't buying a huge 4k OLED to use it as a dedicated DVD machine or strictly to watch the news. And as previously mentioned, it handles 1080p or higher like a world champion.All told, at the price I bought it for ($1500), I don't think you can find a better overall television anywhere. Panasonic's image processing is on par with Sony's, and its brightness and HDR capabilities are right up there with LG. Add to that the perfect contrast of an OLED television and the relatively gigantic (for OLEDs) screen size of 77", and you aren't making compromises anywhere with this television. Shock your friends, delight yourself daily, and pick up the Panasonic Z8BA. It's a genuinely wonderful TV.
