The BEST calculator I've ever used!
I am attending grad school and needed a good scientific calculator. This was rated as the most powerful out there, but I thought I would need to learn HP's reverse Polish Notation, so I got comfortable with that before making this purchase. It turned out I not only didn't need to use reverse Polish, but it is somewhat discouraged because of the way this can handle equations. You simply type the equation you want, and it makes it absolutely simple to complete the equation on a large screen. Far easier than any other calculator I've tried.I also read there is a huge learning curve for this, but that's only for the advanced features, and the ones I've tried have been incredibly easy to learn.Easily the best calculator I've ever used.Ver másVer menos

What are you waiting for buy this thing
This is the real deal calculator and I'm very happy with this purchase. I have not used it to its full capability but it handles the math that I'm throwing at it easily. I appreciate the touchscreen, and just the overall build quality. I had a little bit of trouble with shipping but that has nothing to do with How great this calculator appears to be. With this little device I'm going to ascend to godhood and become a math master. They say that this calculator is exam friendly, but I just can't see being able to use this with CAS enabled, It's too strong. Is it perfect? No, I don't know. But I am really impressed.Ver másVer menos

Pathetic--HP has gone to the dogs.
I've been using HP products, especially calculators for decades. My HP 48 GX finally went kaput, and I ordered this. It didn't even come with a manual. HP Support was worthless. Couldn't contact anything but a machine, and the machine didn't work. It didn't even recognize the serial number. I wasted hours, until I finally found one online, and I'm not sure it's exactly the same model. I now have it on my computer, but calculators are supposed to be portable, and my computer ain't. If they think I'm going to print off 755 pages they're nuts. You can put the calculator in your briefcase along with a compact manual, but I can't carry my computer around. This thing was made in Communist China! How crummy can you get? As far as I'm concerned, HP has gone to the dogs.Ver másVer menos

Great calculator, bit of a learning curve coming from TI-series
Awesome calculator, it is a really powerful calculator, especially for engineering use. One of the biggest things I like about it is how many functions it has and how much it can do once you learn your way around it. It is very capable, works well for advanced math and engineering courses, and the programmable features make it even more useful. Another strong point is the community support behind it. There are a lot of programs, resources, and shared information out there, which helps you get even more out of the calculator. That said, there is definitely a learning curve, especially if you are coming from a TI-84 or even an Nspire. The layout and workflow feel different at first, so it can take some time to get comfortable. Some of the function inputs can also be confusing, especially when you are first learning how the calculator expects things to be entered.Overall, the HP Prime G2 is an excellent calculator for engineering students and anyone who wants a powerful, feature-packed tool. It may take a little patience to learn, but once you do, it is extremely capable and worth it.Ver másVer menos

Fastest Calculator on the Market
My experience with graphing calculators was mainly through the ti 89 which is aimed for engineering. This was smashed in an accident. After some research I chose the Prime. Calculations which sometimes took minutes on the ti 89 are done almost instantaneously on the Prime! It has a touchscreen which is nice and it has a sturdy build. Anyway to charge the battery you'll have to turn it on and connect it to a computer via the supplied usb cable. On the computer go to the hpcalc website and download and install the hp connectivity kit. This will update the Prime OS and set the right time. Leave it plugged in till battery is fully charged. The kit will enable you to download and install any of the many engineering apps free from the hp site. Since you'll at sometime have need for differential equations you'll find it in the geometry app-not obvious. Tap on Geometry, tap on cmd tap on PLOT to find ODE or slope field.
