Great projector at good price-point. Definitely some details to consider.

I start reviews at 3 stars then add or subtract for any pros\cons.First, I searched and purchased this projector so it's NOT a Vine product or freebie review. I just take my reviews seriously and like to be thorough.Initial Impression (+1 star)The projector was packaged very securely. When I pulled it out, its' weight and quality felt very durable and well made. I had a previous one similar to this style that was cheaply made and the pivot point failed after 3 months of use. This one by Tecaki is MUCH better and feels like it will last a long time.Features(+1 star) Setup was very easy and the menu options are simple and clear. I didn't need instructions to get it to cast from my S24 Ultra but casting does require a newer model phone. You can also use an HDMI dongle to your phone, or direct HDMI from a computer. This takes over the device and I wanted this to run by itself. The fine print on one of the images says TV stick sold separately.(-1 star) The menus seem a bit 'cheap' and 'toy-ish'. After using it, I found it's simple and functional. It could definitely use a redesign, but it works.(+1 star) The video quality is awesome and it projects well and the colors are vibrant in a dim or dark room. It will "work" in a bright room, but the picture is definitely washed out the brighter the room is. I wasn't expecting to use it in a bright area so this wasn't a problem or an expectation for me.(+1 star) The picture size is impressive. I have an empty wall in one of the rooms and I can project the picture from the projector to nearly fill the entire wall.I didn't want to lock up a phone or a PC and I planned to use a FireStick. I pulled a FireStick 4k MAX from a TV I wasn't using and plugged it in. The FireTV logo appeared briefly then disappeared with a message that it could not be recognized. After unsuccessfully trying to mess with the settings, I reached out to Support.Support (+1 star)In short, Tecaki support is AMAZING.Shelley was extremely polite, thorough in the responses, and responded quickly (timezone difference considered). We didn't have to go back and forth 5 times for something to be done. The first response provided me with troubleshooting steps and what the next steps would be if these didn't work. The second email was exactly what I needed to know. Even though the 4K Max FireStick doesn't work due to resolution incompatibility, Shelley said the FireStick HD version does.I swapped the 4K FireStick for a HD FireStick and it worked. No connectivity issues whatsoever. After setting up the FireStick, it streamed YouTube and all of my apps flawlessly.(-1 star) Even with the HDMI extension cable, you cannot put the projector straight up without it squeezing the cable. I don't plan to use it on the ceiling but it would have been a cool option for my kid's sleep-overs or when laying in bed.(-1 star) The volume control on the FireStick remote will not control the volume of the projector like it does on my TV even after going through all 6 compatibility attempts the FireStick tries. Not a huge deal because there is a volume control on the projector's remote, but it is a annoying to have to use and keep track of 2 remotes.Pictures:1. In Box2. Out of box3. Shockingly Good !! I ordered another product for the same price and it was only a projector works with slides used for calming at bedtime, it was pure junk nothing as advertised and the price was same as this Tecaki motion projector.This projector hits all the important features at an unbelievable price !! The sound unreal. Great sound without external speakers, the picture is crisp along with outstanding electric focus. I have it in a room with lighting and can still see decent video. Set up is so so easy even a teenager can do it. The manual is good as well along with a free the month warranty. It is univocally one of the best projectors for the price which I was really shocked !!! Tecaki is a great projector full motion with excellent video and sound quality something hard to believe. I will use it for a few days and update this but the quality is beyond excellent a surprisingly solid and great looking projector for a measly below 40 dollars !!! Impressed. I may buy some for my grand daughter as it’s really good to view a relaxing video on utube and fall asleep, unlimited uses and great foot watching movies !Trust me, if it doesn’t fill your expatriations you can always return but I seriously doubt you will !AlanVer más

Versatile and easy to use—my kids love it!

Overall, I’ve had a great experience with this mini projector after using it for two weeks. It’s clearly not a $600 high-end device, but for the price, it’s absolutely worth the money. Setup took a little bit of time, but once that was done, it’s very easy to use and definitely kid-friendly. I've taken it with me on vacation and moved it between different rooms without any issues. My kids love it, and I’m even considering purchasing a few more.Ver más

Definitely NOT 1200 ANSI Lumens

Manufacturers measure their own generic definitions of lumens in different ways, but ANSI lumens is a standard measure from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and this one is absolutely falsely advertising as such. The product page (at least at time of writing this) states this projector is 1200 ANSI Lumens. That would be VERY bright, able to project a clear picture with regular to high ambient light.THIS projector measures an estimated ANSI lumens in the neighborhood of 80 to 100 ANSI Lumens. The room needs to be darkened, and even then the picture is not clear and text is all but unreadable. For the $29 sale price it was purchased at, it MAY be okay for projecting occasional movies, etc., in a dark room, but certainly wouldn't pay anything more than that.Ver más

I’m very happy with this mini projector! The setup was easy, and the WiFi and Bluetooth features make it very convenient to use. The picture quality is clear and bright enough for enjoying movies and shows at home. It’s compact, easy to carry, and works great for family movie nights. Highly recommend!Ver más

great projector

this one is better than the other projector i bought because it allows you to really manipulate the angle, which means you don’t have to have it sitting straight on. i was able to put it on my nightstand at an angle and still have a straight picture on the opposite wall. truly the best feature of it. everything else works great too. sound quality isn’t great but i always connect it to a speaker anyways, which is easy.Ver más

10/10 MUST PURCHASE PROJECTOR!

This is the best purchase we have made. We use the projector daily. This was purchased for a fun movie night for my kids and based on the affordability we had low expectations that were blown away. The built-in apps are amazing, setup is easy, the picture quality is incredible. My husband was STUNNED that the projector was only $50. We love that we can move it around wherever we need it, setup is easy making it very versatile. The sound quality from the projector is great - we haven't had to connect a speaker. 10/10 and cannot recommend this product more!! I also connected with Customer Service regarding a screen, and their response time was very quick and my questions were answered promptly. Super helpful!Ver más

Get fairly hot.

I’ve been genuinely impressed with this projector, especially considering how compact and portable it is. What I personally love most is using it for ceiling projection in bed. The small size makes it super easy to position, and once I paired casting from my phone, it basically turned my bedroom ceiling into a mini theater. Streaming movies, YouTube, and Netflix has been effortless.Brightness and color quality were better than I expected for something this portable, and there are several display modes to choose from as well. Obviously it looks best in darker rooms, but for nighttime viewing it’s excellent. The fan noise is also fairly minimal.Setup was quick out of the box, and the portable size is a huge plus easy to move from room to room. The remote was much more faster than I expected as well. It feels like one of those gadgets you end up using way more than you originally expected.Overall, if you want a true 1080p projector that’s compact, easy to cast to, and perfect for relaxed ceiling viewing or casual home theater use, this one has been a great buy.Update: With more use, I started to notice it getting fairly hot and overheating with use. It also seemed to have developed a dark mark in the screen that could not be removed with cleaning the lens.Ver más
