Great 5k2k monitor
I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won't be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.Ver másVer menos

Beautiful display, easy on the eyes, great for work.
This is an absolutely outstanding monitor. Just to be clear, I am not a gamer, I am using this for work productivity. I previously purchased the 34 inch model, and depending on how comfortable you are with having windows overlap, that may be all you need. If you want just a little bit more space this is the way to go. Well, this is for my work computer, I am mostly doing email and other Internet based windows and spreadsheets and things of that nature. If you were doing video or music editing, it would work very nice to see more of your timeline. I was a little leery of a curved monitor, but it is absolutely stunning in 2K format… I don’t notice any weird distortions or anything like that. If anything, it is much easier on my eyes, and look/have to move my head LESS than I did with my previous setup of three 21 inch monitors, side-by-side-by-side that were angled towards me. This is the way to go, if that is what you are dealing with… This is a game changer.Ver másVer menos

Samsung is always high quality
This is an outstanding gaming monitor. It’s large and a good price for quality. Some people like a lower priced off brand. I like the quality brand.

Best Monitor!
I would love to spend the time to write all the reasons I love this monitor as well as give the best details on it.Quality: Super solid. The only thing with quality I would improve is the base. It’s just ugly and awkward. Samsung, I know you can do better.Value: On sale, awesome. MSRP is high.Brightness is perfect for what I need.It performs super well for the 4 computers I have hooked up to it.HDR is a bit weird and I will need to look into that more but I don’t need it for my day-to-day.Ver másVer menos

Decent for gaming, not good for balanced use or productivity.
Decent monitor and not badly priced. Has some key flaws though.I can't rate it 5 stars because like others my unit has 1-2 seconds of black screen randomly even with 8K rated HDMI cables driven by a 4090. This happens a few times a day even with latest drivers and updates to the computer.I use for productivity 70% to games and movies 30%. I found the hard way a 1000R curve is idiotic for anything but particular types of gaming, but there are very few options for screens of this size and aspect ratio.For video or audio editing, or office or spreadsheet work the, curve warps timelines or straight lines badly and is overkill. It looks dumb. Also no one should be sitting within closer that a meter of this monster all day. Its a large screen and best viewed at 40-44 inches in my opinion.While I had adapted my vision to the Samsung strong 1000R curve after just over a week, I decided to try a Dell 2500R monitor of the same size and resolution. After comparison: the immersion and focus benefit to the eyes of the Samsung is only marginally better in games, but every other use is worse due to the extreme curve. The curve in the Dell is about right for a balance of increased eye rest and immersion but not making normal work or movies look too warped.The Samsung VA panel is decent and fast for a VA, but has viewing angle shifts and backloght bleed that look very similar to the minor IPS glow shift of the Dell. The 8 zone dimming on Samsung is a joke and when turned off, the contrast in a dark room is marginally better than the Dell (which uses LG IPS Black tech in its panel for nearly 2000:1 contrast).With a little ambient light, I found the Samsung VA did not have any advantage over the Dell in any area except gaming.So besides the price, why would anyone pick this over the Dell unless all they do is game? The Dell has a much smarter 2500R curve choice, way better connectivity, no power brick, better color accuracy, similar black levels in a lit room, and doesn't shut off the signal randomly for no reason.Im disappointed that gaming continues to ruin good products like the Samsuung with dumb decisions (lights and stupid childish logos on everything, etc) but is what it is.If Samsung ever made a 2000R version with real local dimming, and no black flashes due to weak signal, this unit would 5 stars because it does have a lot to like. In the end I am likely returning the Samsung because of the dumb 1000R radius, but mostly because I can't afford to have it fail if the flicker to black indicates unstable hardware design.

Worth the price on sale.
I am very happy with the purchase and it's worth the money when it's well under a thousand. I wanted something bigger and higher res for playing games on plus general internet and streaming. This does that great. The color isn't as accurate as on my previous LG IPS monitor, but sitting side by side I can get it fairly close. Plenty good for gaming and movies. I use the included display port cable and have not seen any flickering on an AMD gpu and Linux. You will need a beefy video card to push this many pixels in games.Picture is not great out of the box. I use Custom: Brightness 40, Contrast 32, Sharpness 15, Color 30, Tint R2, Local Dim high, Contrast Enhance off, Color Tone warm 1, White Balance (-1 r, -2 b), Gamma 2, Shadow Detail 0, Color Space native for Picture looks great. FreeSync on, Black Equalizer 0 on the Game tab. I could maybe get it slightly closer by further tweaking the white balance, but it is close enough to the accurate 34UC88 beside it for me to not bother. I'm happy with it.The cons: I do think the 1000r curvature radius is too steep. I would much rather see it with the 1900r radius of the LG beside it, but that's not how they made it. The viewing angle could also be better, but I think that is partly a result of the curve as well. There is some noticeable backlight bleed on a completely black screen when you look for it, but I can't say I even notice it in a dark game like BG3.Considering it can usually be found under 1000, I think it's worth it. The further under the better. For over it, I think I would try to find something with oled or a flatter curve.Ver másVer menos

Almost a Perfect Monitor
This monitor is great !! The gaming resolution is very high and the curved, line of site keeps you in the action. Easy to setup, but beware, the ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there are NO built in speakers. There is a jack, so you can hook up external speakers, but not much of a problem because I use headsets anyway. You can't go wrong, great monitor for the price. I highly recommend this monitor to any gamer interested in upping their gamming experience.Ver másVer menos
