Difficult and time consuming but good stress relief
With 603 pieces, it's taken me weeks of work but to be honest, I don't regret getting this. I think it's gorgeous and yes, it's taken me a lot of time but if your looking for a good stress relief project, this is well worth the money. It's well built and can't wait until it all comes together. Yes, I would up getting a couple pieces that broke but the vendor replaced them.Ver másVer menos

Super fun build! This is not a build for beginners. The kit comes w/everything you need and instructions are pretty easy to understand, all done w/pictures step-by-step. Like previous reviews I have done on these, I caution again on using patience when separating your pieces from the boards. Too much pressure can make the wood split or splinter. Also advise sanding(included in kit) a majority of the spots where pieces were connected on boards so fit and looks are better. The rope lines were actually a lot simpler than expected. All pieces were included for assembly. Shipped and packaged as expected.Ver másVer menos

Hours of fun!
This was a Christmas gift for my husband. He enjoyed every moment of putting it together. He’s done several of these type of builds and this one was by far his favorite stating that he loved how this one actually kept him challenged and engaged. We thought the size was going to be small but it’s bigger than expected and much more detailed than what it initially looks like. It’s sturdy and laid out well too! He did have one piece break that he easily used superglue to repair and then quickly moved on.Ver másVer menos

A great starter kit
Awesome kit as it comes, having a sanding block of some sort helps fit the pieces and super glue to hold everything together. The instructions are easy to follow just be aware of the fragility and be easy when removing and installing the pieces and itll turn out great.Ver másVer menos

Difficult but fun to build!!
This is very nice model to build. Not a "beginner" project. It requires some skill and dexterity. Some pieces are quite small and can be difficult to place in proper locations. The longer pieces tend to be fragile and care is needed to keep from breaking them. Follow the directions, which are quite good, and the construction will make sense. Still, some glue comes in handy here and there!Great fun - just be patient.!!Ver másVer menos

Distraction for a few days
Got me through a depression period by distracting me for a few days. It really kept me distracted and as I progressed I wanted to see it finished more and more!

took some time but worth it
I got on a model building kick and started off with the Book Nook Hemingway kit. It was fun but after covering 100's of tiny books I was burnt. I decided to switch to a ship. This one looked difficult but not hard enough that I would give up. The pieces were strong enough that they didn't break when separating them, but they had spares for the ones that might. I bought extra glue, but the pieces fit so snug not much was needed. The little screws were a bit challenging but the magnetic screwdriver that came with the kit helped. After the first dozen it was pretty easy. I would recommend buying a black sharpie as the wood pieces need to be touched up when separating them. I put on all the sails and ropes recommended but I'm going to go back and add the optional ones when I have time. The directions were spot on, and I was able to do a couple pages a night and wasn't left in a bad spot with something 1/2 done. Do remember to use the wax where it says....important for the cannons to slide out later. It does look cool on the shelf and people always ask about it.Ver másVer menos

Great display piece. Only thing I did like that the front of the ship is a paper cardboard.
