Evolution
This was an interesting edition. I had a friend whose face I some times remember when Fran puts her fist in the air in victory or calling for curry. In fact I finally broke down and bought some curry to celebrate this story. This volumes pacing was a little fast but it's a short novel and what can you do. Still 5 stars from me. Lots of Subterfuge
Fran and Teacher continue their attempts to get Fran to evolve. Fran meets a Black Cat that evolved, and asks her how she did it, but she is bound by some mysterious power and can't talk about it.A man by the name of Solus is a traitor, and some random noble named Seldio wants Fran's sword. The story is good, but there is a lot of torture.We also meet the Beast King. He is a jerk, but a powerful one.Ver másVer menos

I have been enjoying this series quite a bit. Just be careful ordering from Amazon because every here and there your books show up damaged

Setup for the main story
Fran finally arrives in Ulmutt. While dungeon delving, she finds clues on Black Cat evolution or at least on why no Black Cat in living memory has evolved. More is going on then meets the eyes, and the powers that be will go very far to stop Fran from reaching her goals.The story is an entertaining slice-of-life read much like the previous volumes with some interesting world building going on as well as the beginning of a bit of an overarching story. No last-minute rescues by others either, which even Fran comments on that she is happy about finally being able to finish fights on her own.It does come with the drag queen trope, Teacher's panic over little things and as always an oddly positive view on (the effectiveness) of torture to acquire information. Things that can be a bit grating for me. Fran angering powerful people accidentally is also getting a tad repetitive. Finally, I am a tad disappointed in the stat blocks. If you add them, at least try to make fit to some extent. If you tell the character earned a skill, you might want to add it to their stat blocks that you show a few pages afterwards...Still, while there were a few irritating things in the story, they were minor and it did not effect my enjoyment of the book. A good read and solid addition to the series.Ver másVer menos

Less errors missed by the editor, and the story is feeling more put together. This volume in particular makes Fran and Teacher feel a little less OP; I hope that vibe continues.

Exactly as I remember
I remember reading a translation of the novel but happy it's finally been printed and I have a copy of it.It came in new condition and there aren't any marks.Big fan of the series happy to find a physical copy of it.

I'm hooked.
Nefarious and mysterious villains. OP battles and a charming main character.I picked up the first book in this series to try after bouncing hard off a similar concept reincarnation light novel.This series was much more fun and enjoyable to read. The main characters start off feeling a bit simplistic but over time develop into more interesting characters as their backstories develop.I'm really invested in Fran and her journey and development.My only criticism is that somewhere during the translation to english, the consistency of the characters skills and stats isn't up to par over time.But I'm loving this series amd decoured this book in a single day.After finishing this volume, I instabuyed the next volume.Ver másVer menos
