Best mini Bluetooth MiDi controller available
Love love love this Mini Keyboard. Don’t really care about the extra functionality as I’m using Ableton and an M4 MacBook running OS Sequoia which means for me makes it very much plug and play. Keyboard is tiny and plasticky. I love it. I can basically fit this thing in my pocket - albeit with half of it sticking out! Why would I do that? I wouldn’t. But it does give you an idea of its size. The rotary wheel at the top left is easily mapped to anything in your DAW. Awesomely convenient.So the thing you’re all wondering about is how is the latency with no cable - operating via Bluetooth? In a word, it’s the best I’ve ever used. Now, I do run my MacBook at 48kHz and 32 samples of buffer - even with pretty large mixes and, as long as I REMOVE any limiters from the masterbuss that latency is imperceptible.It’s do good that I bought the 16 pad mini controller (amazing, but windows 98 looking software and website…) and I’ve also purchased the midi wireless system for my Hydrasynth desktop.It seems that M-Vave have advanced midi over Bluetooth technology ahead of ALL the big manufacturers. It’s frankly astounding and being as I bought the unit for $32 I almost feel guilty…I also have a composing setup next to the bed which is primarily why I purchased the unit (as I have a Native Instruments S61 mk3 downstairs) and I sit in bed with it on my lap. It weighs nothing and I love the on/off switch on the side and the blue LED that lets me know it’s on. This brings me to the built in Lithium Ion battery which is something even KORG haven’t figured out. We don’t want to throw away batteries- we want to plug it in via the USB-C to charge (most other mini controllers are still using the old b-style cables from 20+ years ago).M-Vave could take over this side of the industry if they could fix their website, jazz up their software and give more accurately translated materials.Despite those observations, this is literally one of the best hardware value items in existence at this present moment and it should terrify the big companies into pulling their fingers out and start offering better, more up to date technology at half the price or less.If you’re thinking about this, think no longer. It’s better than you’d think and that’s from someone who uses music tech all day, every day. And btw, I bought this over a week ago and have used it every night (turning it off between takes) and I’m still on the charge it was delivered with.Can’t wait for a mini, 3 or 4 slider, Bluetooth composers cc controller.Five stars well deserved.Ver másVer menos
