Tamed my FX-8350!
I needed this for an FX-8350 PC which recently had a closed-loop CPUcooler failure. I don't intend to go back on water, so I temporarily installed an older Cryorig H7 to see if that would work. Unfortunately the H7 could keep the PC running, but not running well or cool. Knowing I needed something better, but not wanting to break the bank on this older PC, I decided on this cooler. Importantly for me, it supports AM3/AM3+. The construction of this cooler is very nice for the price. Installation was quite easy. The fans are fairly quiet but not silent, on my board at least. After installation, my temps were entirely under control! No more liquid coolers for this PC. This is a very good cooler for the price and an excellent value. I recommend!Ver másVer menos

Great cooling
This cpu cooler works very well on an AMD Ryzen 5 5600. I was getting temps around 87C-89C with stock AMD cooler and with this one it is now around 70C at max load.The only issue I had was screwing in the heatsink to the cpu mount brackets. The hole on the top did not line up with the screw on the bottom. I had to remove the top cover of the heatsink (easy clip cover to remove) and wiggle the heatsink so I can reach the screws. I was able to put the cover on with no issues after that. The included tools were very helpful.Ver másVer menos

Cooled to 35C, quiet fans, very good result
Very pleased with result. Brought Temp down to 35C under heavy cpu load. Before installing this cooler my pc used to run at 90C for a while due to faulty cooler. Replacing it with this item fixed it.Easy installation for someone who is used to assemble computers. The very long screwdriver that is included is essential for installation.Easily fit into my Corsair ATX case and onto Asrock X99 extreme4 motherboard with intel LGA2011 socket.Thermal paste is included, easy to apply.Takes up a lot of space, this thing is big and still managed to fit with some clearance between the ram and the cooler. Over 40 years of building systems, the BEST and EASIEST cooler I have ever used.
Firstly, I am not paid to review nor received any discount on my purchase. I have been building systems since DOS plus and Windows 1 was new. (yeah, I AM old) I have built over a thousand systems, installed and administered networks from 4 users to 110 users. Matching the proper cooling solution to the CPU used to come all together in the same box. With the speed, multiple cores and billions of transistors in modern high performance CPU's, cooling has massively evolved. This heat sink / fan system is an absolute renaissance in design. Super clear instructions, the easiest installation of a dual fan cooler coupled with everything needed to install (yes, very long skinny Phillips screwdriver too) made this a joy instead of the usual fight this, cuss that, find a dual to single adapter for the fan connectors.. This cooler was made to both almost install itself and cool a 3.4 GHz processor OC'd to 5.1 and keep things working. I have tried many, MANY coolers and unless I have a client that needs a Threadripper, I will only buy and use these in the future. I would give it 11 stars if I were able to do so. Five stars seems an insult. It IS that easy and capable. Did I forget to mention extremely budget oriented to boot????Ver másVer menos

Easy to setup and solid performance.
I will preface this by saying Ive never ordered or installed a cooler in my PC before as Ive had only prebuilts.First impressions of this cooler were pretty solid. Cooler was packaged snugly in the box with fans in place and cables spliced together ready to go. Mounting parts were separated in clearly labeled bags as Intel or AMD specific and which mounting config you have. The instructions/pictograms were easy to understand. I was nervous but things went together quite easily. The brackets and cooler fit without touching any surrounding components or the glass side panel.I did some benchmarks using a command line CPU stress test before and after installation. My old preinstalled basic cooler was making as much contact with the CPU as it could, but due to its design couldn't make contact with the entire CPU surface. This along with the old cooler being just a copper block with fins meant that even with max fan speed, I was pushing 90c at 50% load, and thermal throttling at 100%.After applying fresh thermal paste and installing the new cooler I was blown away by the results. I was expecting some slight improvement, but what I got was way more than I could hope for. While under 100% load, the cooler was able to maintain core temps under 70C ... WHILE AT MINIMUM FAN SPEED!!! Its amazing knowing that going forward, anytime my CPU gets pushed Ill have no idea as far as fan noise is concerned.All in all I am extremely satisfied with how well this cooler performs and for how much it costs. This isnt a brand I was familiar with. However based on the positive reviews i found, i wanted to give it a try instead of paying for a much more expensive coolermaster or some other brand.Ver másVer menos

Where is the mounting hardware?
Product title, specs list, packing list, etc list compatibility for an array of mounting standards. In my case, I needed the AM3 mounting compatibility.There is no other mounting hardware beyond the LGA bracket that is shown in all the other photos. The thermal paste, manual, and other mounting hardware listed in the packing list are not included.Got the screwdriver, though.Ver másVer menos
