  Good doorstop

My home office door kept wanting to come away from the wall, this has been great to keep it wide open. And I can close the door and use it from the inside to keep my toddler out when I'm in video conference calls. It is larger than I expected because I didn't bother reading it clearly says it's 3". But it works great.Ver másVer menos

Finally a door stop that works on laminate floors!

I live in the desert Southwest where the laminate floors in my home can be a little Dusty and if you are using a plastic door stop it just doesn't work. This fantastic door stop actually goes underneath the door with strong rubber grips. This is my fourth doorstep I've purchased. Finally, one that works perfectly!Ver másVer menos

  Perfect for Large Bottom Gaps

Finally a door stopper that works on doors with a large gap better the bottom of the door and the floor! Like if there was carpeting down when the door was installed and now that the carpet is removed there is a good 2.5" gap better the two.The spring is strong and the rubber on the bottom prevents the door stop from moving.Super easy to use/install: put it on the floor and slide the door onto it. You may have to squish the spring down slightly if you really want the door to stay. This is definitely the tallest/highest door stop I've seen (that is not an ugly, rubber industrial looking thing, or worse yet, a hunk of scrap wood shaped into a wedge) and looks good (or at least "normal" in a house). It was a little pricey, but well worth it.Ver másVer menos

  Great for large gaps

I works great for doors with large gaps. I gave it 4 stars because the rubber piece comes up and you have to stick it back on.

great door stopper - does the job I needed it to do. And, inexpensive.

I have a very heavy porch door that has to stay propped open so as not to interfere with the screen door. I'd used a door stopper, but strong winds shifted it, making it pretty useless. This is super sturdy, doesn't let the door slip, is easy to slid under the door, holds its grip, it's small so no-one even knows it's there, and is just the right size to tuck away unseen when not in use. Great price too.Ver másVer menos

  Function is great

The stopper works well, however, the first time that I used it part of the black rubber grip pulled off of the door stopper, and I cannot get it to reattach.I also think this product needs a holder that you can attach to either your door or your wall with 3M strips that the doorstop fits in.I am a teacher and I use it for my classroom door.Ver másVer menos

  Superior door stop

When you travel for work, small inconveniences can turn into daily frustrations. For me, one of the biggest is propping a heavy hotel door open while unloading bags from a luggage cart. I hate using the safety latch—especially the loud crash when the door swings back into it. My goal was simple: find a doorstop that would hold the door fully open, quietly and reliably. What followed was a real-world comparison of four different doorstops, with the fourth clearly proving to be the superior choice.Product #1: Modern Doorstop – Plastic Door Stopper for Hinged DoorsThis was a gift from my daughter and seemed promising at first. Unfortunately, it was smaller and less sturdy than expected. Hotel doors are heavy, and while this doorstop didn’t break, it lacked the size and strength to hold the door fully open. Instead, the door would swing until it caught the unit.Another issue was the hinge design—the hotel’s hinge was larger than normal, making the intended placement awkward. Even when repositioned, the doorstop simply didn’t provide enough expansion to do the job.Verdict: Lightweight and compact, but not practical for heavy hotel doors.Product #2: The Original Fat Ivan Fold-Up Doorstop WedgeThis option improved slightly. The hook design could sit on the side of the hinge and still fit, which was helpful. However, the core problem remained—the door still wanted to close. While sleek and compact (great for travel), it failed to overcome the weight and momentum of a hotel door.Verdict: Better fit than Product #1, but still ineffective for fully propping open a heavy door.Product #3: Strongest Home Heavy Duty Door Stopper Wedge (Chrome)This doorstop was sleek and solid, but it introduced a new issue: door height and threshold clearance. The wedge was simply too low. Instead of stopping the door, it slid along the floor as the door continued to close—almost disappearing completely underneath.Verdict: Sturdy in theory, but incompatible with higher hotel door clearances.Product #4 (Winner): Strongest Door Stoppers for Bottom of Door – Spring Heavy Duty Door Stop Wedge (3-Inch High)This is where everything finally came together. Is it sleek? No.Is it bulky? Yes.Does it work? Absolutely. This doorstop does exactly what the others could not. When I push the door fully open and place it at the bottom, the door stays fully open. The spring-loaded design allows you to push it in as far as needed, which is perfect for higher doors and uneven thresholds. No sliding. No creeping. No crashing door.Verdict: Functionality over form—and that’s exactly why it wins.Final Comparison TakeawayThe first three doorstops failed for different reasons:Too smallToo weakToo lowThe fourth doorstop solved all of those problems. While it’s not elegant or minimalist, it’s reliable, adaptable, and purpose-built for heavy doors. For my specific use case—quietly and securely propping open hotel doors—it is clearly the superior product.Your doorstop needs may differ from mine, but if you’ve struggled with heavy doors like I have, this one will make you a believer. Sometimes, sleek just isn’t what it’s cracked up to be—and this is one of those times.

  Works for heavy doors

We have a heavy door with a large gap between the door and the floor. A regular door stopper didn't work. This product was great with the large wedge and adjustable height. Reasonable price too
