RunStar scale is a great product & Runstar stands behind their products when service is required

I have been using this scale for the last 10 months. It works very well! It gives me all the information I need about my conditioning, including percentages of muscle mass, body fat, etc. When I first received the unit, it only took about 5 minutes to link it to my android phone, so I have a complete history of my conditioning and body metrics which is very important as I have lost 40 pounds over the last year. Monitoring muscle mass and body fat to be sure I was not losing muscle as I was reducing body fat was very important to me. The rechargeable battery in the scale use to require charging every other month. Over time, that charging need increased to once per week. I contacted RunStar about this obvious battery issue. I expected them to send me a replacement battery pack, but they sent me an entire new scale. THAT is good customer service. I'm very please with the product and their warranty serviceVer más

Great Product

Great Product so far. It has exceeded my expectations for the price point. My primary reason for purchasing this was to monitor body fat and weight. The app if very up to date and looks modern. I have no issues ever connecting to the scale, it just takes 10 seconds to sync and connect. Overall I would recommend it.Ver más

Five Star Purchase

I purchased Runstar FG2305ULB June 2025. I don't know how well its measurements compare to a Dexa Scan, but they were comparable to my physician's scale. Setup was virtually effortless. The scale links easily to my computer via bluetooth and is easy to use. Weight, body fat, muscle mass, body water, etc. measurements were consistent from day to day, and measurement to measurement on days when I weighed myself more than once/day. It worked perfectly until 5/26, when it would only measure weight. I contacted Customer Service (Chris), who responded in less than an hour. I worked with Chris via email over the course of the next two days, trying to determine the possible cause, but nothing worked. Chris voluntarily provided a replacement, along with an extended warranty, which arrived a week after my first contact.Overall, I'm very pleased with the scale and have never had a better customer service experience.Ver más

Comparing 2 scales to a DEXA scan

I got the Run Star Smart Scale and the Fit Index Smart Scale - both of them in the 8 electrode models with the handle bars, as an upgrade to my previous 4 electrode Fit Index Smart Scale. I had them both arrive by the day I was getting a DEXA scan so that I could compare their accuracy. Here are my key takeaways:- Nothing replicates a DEXA scan at home, which I already suspected, but I do think smart scales have a place for tracking trends in-between less frequent DEXA scans.- There is a huge difference between a 4 electrode model and an 8 electrode model. My numbers changed SUBSTANTIALLY when upgrading from 4 to 8 electrodes, within the same brand. The new 8 electrode scale compared to my old data with the 4 electrode version and it was so different, the scale verified I was even the same person!!! Multiple categories’ classifications were changed (as in- good/bad status changed) with the new info. So really, if you want a smart scale, I think there’s no point to get one if it’s not an 8 electrode one. 😳- The numbers between the two new (8 electrode) scales were close-ish to each other, but both were a little bit further from the DEXA number than I’d like. For example, in most categories the 2 scales were within 1-2 points/percent of each other, but were 6-7 points/percent off of the correct DEXA number. This was the case with Body Fat Percentage (6% off), Body Fat Mass (7% off), and lean muscle mass (9lbs off if I’m comparing the right numbers).- I couldn’t verify everything because some categories (like visceral fat) they use an entirely different ranking system that doesn’t compare to DEXA. Other categories (like water, muscle rate/percentage, bone mass) were not included on DEXA or I was unable to locate them. DEXA also didn’t give me a protein level, but bloodwork from a couple months ago indicated it was “good”, and so did both scales. Again the rankings used were different and didn’t compare, because the scales said 11.7 & 12.4% but bloodwork said 7.1. (not a percentage). But as both put me in “normal” range I figure it’s still in the close-ish category.- DEXA reports are way more annoying to try to decipher and figure out what they mean. The reports given from both scales are way more user-friendly. That said, I found the Run Star scale to be slightly more user-friendly. Its advantages included marking “bad” rankings in red (not just yellow/orange), making them easier to spot and obviously “bad.” Also the body images themselves are color-coded by limb/area, making it quick to see what’s “good” or “bad” instead of having a gray body image and having subtle color-coded word explanations to the side.- The biggest advantage I found to the Run Star scale was that they had better, more thorough explanations for each category than the Fit Index did. Where Fit Index may give a one-sentence explanation of what something is, the Run Star would tell you more about it, as well as giving a lengthier explanation of what to do to improve this number if yours is bad. I appreciate that!- Overall, Fit Index is a much less expensive scale, and most of its numbers/readings are pretty comparable to Run Star, but it doesn’t give you the extra info about each score or how to improve it, and it’s color coding is just a bit more subtle. I prefer the red to stand out as bad so I don’t have to hunt for it between similar intensity colors, none of which really stand out. So really the things I don’t like about Fit Index could be fixed with an app update, should the company choose to do so. Fit Index, if you’re reading this, if you update your app, send me a scale & I’ll update this review! 😉- The main thing that stood out between the two scales as being significantly wrong is the fact that their Subcutaneous fat numbers were so far apart. Most ratings were very close to each other, but this category had an 8% difference! I wish I was able to know which one was more accurate, since that would have been my deciding factor. Unfortunately the DEXA scan I got didn’t give me that number so I don’t know the winner/loser in that category. Most other categories were within 1 point/percent of each other, though neither was right on target, so I considered the scales comparable to each other but not a replacement for DEXA. The only other categories that were further than 1 point/percent apart between the two scales were basal metabolic rate, metabolic age (2 points/years difference, so still pretty close), and waist-to-hip ratio (.18 off, which is a lot when the numbers are 1 or less!)- Since I don’t know which one was right/wrong on the subcutaneous fat score (the only notably different score between the 2 scales), I chose which scale to keep based on my preference for Run Star scale’s app. I preferred its readability and color coding and appreciated their lengthier explanations of each rating. It’s a bummer because my old data is saved in the Fit Index scale app already, but I just really like having the extra info there. So I’m keeping the pricier one of the two. But if you want to save money I think Fit Index is a comparable scale at a lower price point. I just don’t know which one was so far off on the one ranking of subcutaneous fat.

Good analyzer and excellent customer service

Excellent and easy to use weight scale and body analyzer. Great to keep track of weight loss and muscle gains. Accurate as my Dr’s office unit. The app is also very easy to use. Had an issue with recharge. Customer service was excellent with easy communication and they replaced the unit at no cost to me.Ver más

Excellent Scale and Great Value

This is a great scale, and the app tracks progress. It will track weight, water retention, muscle and fat mass, etc.It can track multiple people, each with the app on their own phone, and it can differentiate who between people.The scale is rechargeable, and I've had it for a couple months now, and have only charged it the first day I got it, and it's still going strong.Ver más

Great scale and even greater customer service!

Not only is the scale great, their customer service is amazing. After a little over a year my scale just stopped turning on. Contacted customer service, and they sent me a new one right away. They even followed up via email to make sure I had received it and to see if all was well. Would highly recommend to anyone.Ver más

Auch mit Fitdays verwendbar - Update: In Ketose steigt der KFA?

Da meine alte Analysewaage mit den Körperfettwerten sehr springt, teils bis zu 1,5% Körperfett, Muskelmasse und Wasser, habe ich nach einer Waage gesucht, welche recht wiederholgenau misst. Schon die alte Waage war eine mit Handgriff und 8 Elektroden. Aber das Springen der Werte hat den Spaß an den Messungen vermiest. Von einem Tag auf den anderen 1kg Muskelmasse verloren, dafür an Fett zugelegt... Nicht sehr realistisch. Zumal die Messungen stets morgens direkt nach dem Aufstehen statt fanden. Klar ist, dass die Körperzusammensetzung sehr schwankt. Ständig kommt oben was rein und geht hinten wieder raus, Kohlenhydrate binden Wasser, was bei kohlenhydratreicher Ernährung zu einer scheinbaren Zunahme führt. Lässt man die Kohlenhydrate weg, wird man das gebundene Wasser wieder los und nimmt scheinbar rapide ab.Mit der neuen Waage habe ich bisher noch keine Erfahrungen. Was ich aber richtig klasse finde, unter Fitdays wird die Waage ebenfalls erkannt und ich kann sie als neues Gerät hinzufügen. Somit kann ich mit der App meiner alten Waage weiter machen und muss mir keine neue App herunter laden und mich neu registrieren. Zudem habe ich die Unterschiede der beiden Waagen direkt vor Augen. Während meine alte Waage mir 26% Körperfett bescheinigt hat, liege ich bei der neuen jetzt bei 31%. Beim Körperwasser bin ich dafür jetzt von 54% runter auf 50% und Muskelmasse von 62kg runter auf 58kg. Also die Messwerte haben sich deutlich verschoben. Logisch, die Waagen werden auch deutlich andere Messzyklen und Techniken verwenden. Zumal die neue Waage ein aktuelles Modell ist, während die alte Waage aus dem Jahr 2024 stammt und kurz danach nicht mehr verfügbar war.Fazit: Sie macht einen sehr wertigen, gut verarbeiteten Eindruck. Die Menge der Messwerte füllt das Smartphonedisplay über viele Seiten und sie ist auch mit Fitdays kompatibel, so dass nicht zwingend die vom Hersteller empfohlene App verwendet werden muss. Weitere Details wie Messgenauigkeit und Wiederholgenauigkeit werden sich mit der Zeit zeigen.Update 29.01.2026:Inzwischen habe ich die Waage im täglichen Einsatz und bisher habe ich ihren Messwerten auch stets vertraut. Ich mache bereits seit 2 Wochen wieder Keto-Diät. Also nahezu kompletter Verzicht auf Kohlenhydrate um den Körper dazu zu bringen, sein gespeichertes Fett zu verfeuern. Klappt auch richtig gut, seit dem ich in den Ketozustand gelangt bin. Atemmessgerät zeigt tags zwischen 20ppm und 40ppm, nachts zwischen 50ppm und 80ppm. Laut der Waage geht das Gewicht auch deutlich zurück. Zudem mache ich auch täglich an meinen Heimtrainer einiges an Kraftraining. Und was sagt die Waage? Körperfettanteil steigt, Muskelmasse sinkt. Und das schon seit einigen Tagen. Seit ich richtig in der Ketose bin und deutlich an Gewicht verliere. Ich hätte es eigentlich anders herum erwartet. Zumal sich die Rettungsringe auch sichtbar langsam zurückbilden. Gemessen wird jeden Morgen direkt nach dem Aufstehen mit sauberen (fettfreien) Händen und Füßen. Von daher gehe ich nicht davon aus, dass diese Messergebnisse aus Messfehlern resultieren. Offenbar ist die Bioimpedanzanalyse nicht die zuverlässigste Messmethode. Alte Hosen und anderweitige Sachen anprobieren, die früher mal gepasst haben, scheint noch immer die beste Methode zu sein, um zu sehen ob und wie sehr man abgenommen hat. Auch wenn diese Methode keine dokumentierbaren Zahlenwerte liefert. Also, werft Eure alten Sachen nicht weg ;).
