Easy to use.
Works well for the keys I needed to generate the code for. However, would have been nice if somewhere on the packaging or product the direction for measuring keys was included. (From handle of key to tip, in case you are wondering.)

Don't buy this.
Totally inaccurate for Kwikset and missing position 7.See my photo. The measurements are off by about .016I am not sure of the other lock types.

Very handy gadget to have
Super handy gadget to have I really like it though there's a slight bit of confusion to me in the way that it works it would seem that you slide it until it stops and then whatever number is on the right side of the key is the number / pin height of that cut but at the zero and one position it seems like it can go either way so it could be reading it wrong but functionally seems to work fine and from what I can tell accurate and to be fair it's pretty easy to see the difference between a zero and a one so not that big of a deal. Definitely makes measuring / decoding the key much faster and it's built well seems to be a sturdy piece of "premium metal" don't see there being any issue of it warping out of shape or anything like that should last a lifetime.Ver másVer menos

maybe not 100% accurate, but close.
I spent a long time waiting on this review, as I've used gauges like this in the past and I'm conflicted on this one. While it is well made, affordable, and of sturdy construction...I find that the accuracy is not quite as good as I'd like. Some of the gauges work perfectly, while others seem to be a little off by my measurements. The pins don't quite fit the correct gap measurements, allowing for some guesswork in determining the pin size.However, I'm also aware that there are a significant variation in different locks and perhaps I just came across one with some weird sizes, so I'm still going to give it a 3 for those that it works well on.Ver másVer menos

Reasonable, but Kwikset scale is 0-5 not 1-6. Error prone as such.
