Great for projects
I tested this with a Raspberry Pi 5. It worked flawlessly with a WiFi adapter, ethernet adapter, and even a GPU.

Worked great with a Raspberry Pi 5
Using this and a PCI-E to NVME adapter I was able to get a 2.5G networking card working on my Raspberry Pi 5. You will need some soft of external power source, I had an older SATA hard drive adapter that worked.I can't say this will work with every PCI-E adapter on the Pi, or with every PCI-E device. Wouldn’t trust it.
Almost destroyed my server. Wouldn’t trust this in a machine you place high value on. I shouldn’t have waited past return period to test it. Proceed with caution.

It needed to be done
The NGFF M.2 M-Key to PCIe X4 Expansion Card Adapter works as advertised and is excellent for plugging in PCIe cards for extra expandability. I used it to add more network ports to my PC, and it performed well.However, there are two important notes: I wouldn’t feel comfortable plugging high-power devices like graphics cards into this due to the power draw. Additionally, you won't get all the performance out of a 4x connection, so it's best to avoid heavy cards since there are no mounts—this could risk damaging your system.Overall, it’s a solid choice for light expansion but comes with limitations for high-performance applications.Ver másVer menos

EXPANDABILITY!!!!
I love this M.2 card. Great quality, easy to install. It functions the same as a PCI slot.

Great quality and functionality
This adapter card worked perfectly for adding a PCIe slot to my mini-PC. It's basically plug-and-play: just insert the card into an M.2 M-key slot, tighten one screw, and connect 12V power. A SATA power to 4-pin Berg cable is included, but I made my own to plug directly into my PC's motherboard.From there, you can install nearly any x1 to x16 PCIe card, but you'll need to remove or trim its slot cover due to limited height clearance. If it's an x1 card, be sure to plug it in the right way. As of writing this review, some of the product listing photos actually show a PCIe card inserted backwards. Don't do that.In use, the adapter works exactly as I hoped it would. My mini-PC had no trouble recognizing the video card that I installed, automatically using it as the primary display output. A green LED on the adapter board shines when everything's powered up.Overall, this adapter does the job nicely, and it comes complete with power cable, screw, and screwdriver. Bought two, one works, one doesn't.
I bought two. One worked, one didn't. No, it's not some kind of shared pci lanes issue. Same M.2 slot, same pcie riser and gpu, one works, one doesn't. It's faulty. The one that works seems just fine, but 2 stars because you don't know what you're getting.Unfortunately I can't return it because Amazon's scammy practices try to force me to drive an hour to the nearest UPS or FedEx drop-off (I am rural) instead of just dropping it in the mail if I try to return anything. Not worth the fuel and time for an $8 item.Ver másVer menos

Bought two of these neither work on a dma card don’t waste your money on it
