Quality and gorgeous build project
I've done a few of ROKRs wooden puzzles/music boxes. My son built the marble coaster. It had great instructions and step by step QR code videos. Almost all wood.This "cello" music box was actually smaller than I expected (about the size of a soda can. Maybe a pinch bigger). But the build quality is higher than expected. Despite the delicate little parts, it's actually very sturdy. Lightweight but with a solid feel. The cogs run very smoothly and don't wobble. The bow moves gracefully.A little heads up though. You will need either a set of tweezers/small needle nose pliers or have excellent finger dexterity because some of the parts are quite tiny. The intricate detail is lovely whether you choose to leave it plain or color the wood like I did. I especially love the tiny gold pins and screws which give it a very classy touch. This kit in general had more METAL pieces, screws and fasteners than other kits I've built, which I think contributes to the stability. You also get multiple back ups for delicate parts in case you accidently snap something.This took me longer than usual to build because I was coloring the pieces as I went along. So it took me a good 8-10 hours to build. Do pay attention to the exact alignment of the cog teeth. The instructions are clear for how to do this. Being off by just one space will gum up the works.The instructions aren't super detailed, but they are clear and not in "engrish" like a few of ROKRs older model kits. (I like the celestial music box but the translated to English instructions are a bit humorous at best).My only minimal complaint about this kit is I wish a cello music box would play a cello song (like Brandenburg concerto no. 3). Regardless, I enjoyed the build and the end result. So pretty and it runs smooth.Ver másVer menos
