Native Support With Ubuntu Linux
The Nvidia card in my old workstation required installing a driver which made upgrading to a new version of Linux problematic. The Radeon HD 5450 works flawlessly with Ubuntu Linux and probably most modern Linux distributions because the kernel has native support for the AMD chipset. The highest resolution is 1920 x 1200, but I'm running the more common 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. There is the option for a regular sized back plate with all three video ports (DVI, HDMI and VGA) but there are two shorter back plates for mini AT cases, with DVI and HDMI on the card's back plate and a separate back plate to install in the adjacent slot that has a VGA port that's connected to the board via a ribbon cable. I'm using the HDMI port and it was plug and play easy. The video processing is faster than the older Nvidia card that it replaced.Ver másVer menos
