Great cups!

Contingo mugs are great at keeping beverages cold (I don't drink coffee, so can't talk about keeping drinks hot). One of the great features is that when the lid is on tight, they don't leak so I can put it in my purse!

Reliable Mug That Keeps Your Coffee Hot!

I go through coffee mugs way too often. I am looking for that next one that keeps my coffee as warm as a hot summer day. This mug stands out due to the shape of the mug for a close grip and the ease of flipping the lid open to take that next sip.I noticed that the temperature remained steady over a four-hour period before I noticed any decrease. When uncapped, it has a decent-sized opening that allows you to use a nice bottle brush to clean out your mug. You can take this on the go for work, road trips, and vacation. THE BEST Coffee Travel Mug!

These are my all time favorite coffee mugs. They dont spill, and they are really easy to customize because the surface is not curved at all like a lot of other coffee travel mugs. The mouth is wide and I can fit my whole hand in there to scrub everything, which is amazing and makes it extrmely easy to clean. They are pretty durable, too! I work at a mine site, and these things can take a BEATING! The only one that ever actually broke the lid was because I accidentally dropped it off several flights of stairs onto concrete. They have survived me forgetting they were on the back of my flatbed, even. I like to scuff them up, and then spray paint, hydrodip, or sticker-bomb them.They keep heat in for a very long time! I have had RTIC, Yeti, and Stanley travel mugs, and these do just as well for a fraction of the price!I have bought so many of these, and I plan to continue to.Ver más

A very good drinking mug with one minor drawback.

This mug keeps hot liquids hot and cold liquids cold for a long time. The only downside is getting used to the fact that the drinking port is always open or closed. And pushing the lock up and down is a little difficult. Especially one-handed. I am accustomed to another unit of the same brand that has a simple push button. So sometimes I forget that this thing is open and I spill it. But with that said, it's still a good drinking mug. I would buy it again.Ver más

My favorite travel coffee cup but wish I got a bigger one!

These cups are great. Leak proof and pretty easy to clean the lids. I have a few of these cups and I love them.I thought I bought the 16oz one before until this arrived and it is small. The paint is also scratched when I received it. I wish they would sell these without paint because it happens to them all, quicker if you put them in the dishwasher.Looks aside paint wise they keep my coffee hot in my car for a few hours until I go on break in freezing cold temps. Stays hot even longer when not in freezing cold conditions. At this price point it is a good buy.Ver más

Durable

A coworker turned me on to these cups. As a factory worker, a durable cup was most important, as mine seemed to get knocked over constantly. Keeps my coffee hot, looks great, and definitely durable! Had mine for years now and it's hit the concrete many a times. Hardly a scratch. Worth it!Ver más

Holds temperature, easy to clean, good size

Licked proof and very light. I can take with me in my bag or my car. Holds temperature very good around 6 hours. Material is very easy to clean. I can highly recommend for very day use.

Surprising quality, but with one disappointing let down leads to 3 stars.

It keeps my coffee hot a good long time, and the outside stays nice and cool.I would like to give it 5 stars, really. But....Details I like. The surface has just a little bit of texture. It really does help hold the cup if your hands are wet. Also, the exterior stays cool while your coffee stays hot. Naturally, it would keep cool things cool as well.The lid is a complex casting, and came out clean and sharp. The inside of the lid is quite shiny, which means a lot of care was taken by the mold maker. It doesn't say what kind of plastic it is, but from the looks of it I would guess a glass filled nylon. Glass filling the plastic improves rigidity and durability. The downside is that it wears on the molds moreso than unfilled plastic. More cost for the manufacturer.The latch on the lid is quite tight. It does break in some. Even after a few weeks of use, it still has a substantial snap to it, both opening and closing. This makes closing it quite positive. It also helps make sure that it doesn't leak. From the lid, at least. Since we're on the lid, I like the way it seals the lid. It has what appears to be a silicone nipple that seals the opening quite well. If it really is silicone, it should last a good, long time.The cup itself is sheet stainless, rolled and welded with stamped bottom "cup" that is welded to the outer shell. The inner liner is also stainless and appears to be a deep draw stamping. Deep draw stamping is hard on tooling. Especially when using stainless. Also, all the welds are very clean. I would have a to guess it's laser welded by a CNC machine, so the welds should last quite well. The stainless steel this is stamped out of is fairly thin, but the shape, and the the inner liner being welded to the outer shell give it good rigidity and solidity.The bad. The threads on the cup are what appears to be a roll press. It's a fine method to produce threads on a stamping. Unless it needs to seal up tightly. Unfortunately, this way of manufacturing isn't nearly as precise as the other steps in making this cup. What that means is that the threads may be just a bit higher or lower on each cup. This may cause the sealing surface of some cups to be tighter, or looser, than others. This is, I think, where the dribblong is coming from. The other down side to rolled threading is that the lid occassionally tries to cross thread itself onto the cup. That can damage the threads molded into the plastic, eventually causing the lid to fit even worse. Making it more likely to leak.It really is quite a good value. Especially when you consider the manufacturing processes used are hard on tooling, which is quite costly to replace.Better than some I've used, but leak proof? Yeah, nope. If, when full, you tip it a bit too far it is prone to dribbling. Not a huge gusher, but if you happen to be wearing white, yeah, you're screwed.Given the balance between the high quality materials and most of the manufacturing processes, I would give it 5 starts. Except for the dribbling. Still, I'd like to give it 3.5 stars, really. But Amazon won't let you. Since so many who use these are going to work, and the possibility of staining your clothes is real, it has to be 3 stars.

Exceeded my expectations.

I purchased this mug based on positive reviews and I was not disappointed. It keeps my coffee hot for hours and I love the sleek, classic style and superior quality craftsmanship. It fits comfortably in my hand and is not heavy despite the fact it holds 20 ounces. The lid is easy to use and doesn't drip. It also comes with clear care and cleaning instructions.
