Worth every penny.
I’ll never install another system without one of these.Connecting everything was a breeze, by the time one gets this far into car audio, it’s relatively self explanatory. That’s the easy part!My ears are pretty sensitive to certain higher frequencies, but with the PRV 2.8X, I can tune those frequencies down to a comfortable level.Figuring out how to use and adjust the DSP was a matter of watching a few tutorials and playing in the settings. Very intuitive design!I used my iPhone with an RTA Application, while playing pink noise generated by the DSP (within the “Tools” menu section), which isn’t very “professional”, but displayed everything I needed to achieve what I would describe as fantastic audio fidelity!This device has changed the way I listen to music and allowed me to listen to new types of music I wouldn’t have otherwise listened to, as some songs demand a greater level of audio, which can only be achieved with a device such as this.I’m using the PRV 2.8X in the following configuration, utilizing 6 of the available 8 channels;4 channel amplifier, running 4 full-range speakersmono-block amplifier running 2 subwoofers.It works great!Ver másVer menos

Works Great For Home Audio Too!
The low cost attracted me, but the flexibility and sound quality justified the 5 star rating. Its loaded with useful features, and the crossover is excellent. I hooked it to a 13.8 VDC regulated linear power supply, and use it to control my woofers and subwoofer in a bi-amped tube/solid state 2.1 home audio setup. It works surprisingly well in that role. The longer I've used it, the more impressed I am. It really allows you to dial in some fine detail to your room and tastes. I was able to set and increase the crossover slopes, adjust the gain levels, setup delay to the woofers, and cut room nodes dramatically using the PEQ feature. Addressing the room nodes made a significant improvement. There's no question that this is an improvement over what just an active crossover can do....it's a bit mind boggling.I didn't find it overly intuitive to use at first, but managed to make it do what I wanted. It's making more sense as I get used to it. Great unit at this price, but I could see some benefit from having a laptop or phone control to make adjustments from the listening position....I'm guessing that feature won't be found in this price range. Patience required
So I've been on the fence about one of these for a little while now. I wanted to do something with my system, but not anymore equipment upgrades. So I decided to make this purchase. I didn't want to spend six or $700 on a helix so I went with this. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but perfect for what I was looking for. At first I wasn't a full believer. Just couldn't seem to get the sub to sound much better than it did before. Well, after some patience and some tweaking, you can believe I'm a full believer now! WOW! It seems to me, and I know this doesn't really make much sense, but it almost seems like this needs some breaking in. It just seems to sound better all the time. I'm doing everything by myself and by ear. I'm not investing in mics and all that other stuff, just not that important to me. Been playing around with the time alignment and oh my God it sounds incredible. Still obviously in the tuning mode but this is proving to be very well worth the money paid. I'm running one Alpine dual voice coil sub at 1 ohm and I cannot believe I'm getting this sound out of one 12" sub. Any problems I'll be back with an update. Oh, and also, no engine noise.Update: 10 months later no probs. Upgraded some equipment and moved this to my glove box. Gets a bit warm in hot weather but no heat issues with unit. I just open the glove box for air circulation. I think I would like something better, but this works and I don't wanna spend so much time learning another one. It's $30 less than when I bought it so I highly recommend this if you're looking for something basic, effective, and affordable.Ver másVer menos

It works great.
I honestly love this little DSP. It helped flatten my base line sound and allowed me to tune each channel individually. Works great for the price and the interface is easy to use once you get used to it. It really helped clean up my sound.

Amazing for the $$$
I just want to first say this is an amazing value for the money. After a few days of playing around with it I was able to improve the SQ of my car 10 fold.I’ve never done any car electrical wiring but I was able to install this with ease, especially because I already had an amp installed. I took the 8 gauge power wire off the amp, connected it to a power distribution bus bar, then ran power back to the amp and to a fuse block, and from the fuse block to the DSP.I went with this over the Dayton offering mainly because this offers a higher voltage output and I wanted a stronger cleaner signal over greater tuning capabilities, also the Dayton seems to be hit or miss on adding noise based on the reviews.With that said there are some quirks. I’ve only have had this unit for a week and I’ve already had the menu go dead on me while making adjustments. Turned off my car and it came right back, but is concerning with only having it going for a few days.Also I don’t think the pink noise generator is accurate pink noise. I tried tuning based on the device’s built in pink noise and gave myself quite the headache trying to figure out how the sq was getting worse despite achieving my ideal frequency curve. Played a different pink noise sample and got it tuned near perfection in less than 15 min.With near perfect being said…It does only have 13 bands and only able to set a single parametric eq. Therefore you can only achieve so much. If close enough is good enough for you, I’d go ahead and buy based on the cost to performance ratio.Overall if you’re wanting a DSP that will get your car audio tuned to 80-90% of perfect this is a must buy for $150. I can now play almost crystal clear music to the point where signal distortion clipping occurs. I’m extremely happy with the performance and highly recommend!Edit: 4-27-22After further diving into the world of sound engineering, I’ve been able to even further increase the quality of sound from my setup because of this device. I still think it’s only 4 stars, because it lacks detailed customization, and quality of life features. However if you know or are willing to learn the nuances of sound frequencies this thing is incredible for the money. Biggest requests would be more than just a single parametric eq channel and a wireless ability to change between saved eq settings. I’ve essentially spent a good 40hrs tweaking everything to fit as many music styles and ages as possible, because switching genres or listening to music made for radio can sound horrible if you tune only using pink noise, and without an option to changes custom presets you’re f***** if you have an eclectic taste in music. After spending 40hrs tuning, I’m about to spend another 40hrs learning how to hack this thing to enable this feature 😅

Works well, has all required features except panning. Solid quality and easy enough to use.
Working well! Using this for speaker setups at parties/small events to do crossovers between subs, mids, and top speakers. Have also done delay towers with this, and is a nice solution all around. Has "graphic" EQ (no actual graphics), delay, gain, crossover, and phase controls. Would be nice to have a pan feature though.Ver másVer menos
