Works perfectly with Nvidia Shield TV
Ok. The original Nvidia Shield TV remote was never really reliable. Lost pairing every now and then. Constantly ran out of battery. Now 3 years later it's completely dead.I was coping with Google's terrible Android TV Remote app for a while. What a piece of junk. But a Nvidia Shield TV replacement remote was simply too expensive. Then I found this guy, the G20S. People said that even the voice input worked. I was sceptical, but it was cheap enough to just try.Boy was I surprised when I got it. Sure, it's not a sleek as the original. It's bulkier and completely made of plastic. But it feels well made, high quality. Good click points and a nice weight. Actually, it feels better in the hand than the original. It does not pair with Bluetooth and does not come with software updates, but with the tiny USB dongle it was plug and play and maybe much easier to set up than the original.Here comes the really big deal: not only does the voice control work flawlessly. It has dedicated volume buttons (not this finicky touch bar). And it has a menu key that works well with Kodi. I didn't see much much use for the air mouse, but it's a nice feature that works with the Shield TV.Completely blown away by the value here. Super happy with the purchase. Absolutely perfect for the Shield TV
Let's be honest, the remotes and controllers that come with the Shield TV (at least the older versions) just don't hold up. After going through THREE controllers that my kids kept dropping and breaking (those things are expensive!!), I was finally ready for something new. This little remote is a godsend and works amazingly well. It was simple plug-and-play, ready to go immediately after plugging in the USB receiver. All buttons work, voice control works, and the battery has lasted two months so far.The air gesture feature works well, too, but honestly we never use it. Navigating with the arrow keys is easier, especially for kids.My Shield TV is in an elevated cabinet, and I noticed reception issues with the USB receiver plugged into the back of the Shield, so I got a little 6-inch USB extension cable which moved the remote receiver out toward the front and now the remote works perfectly all over the living room.My only complaint is that the battery door is super tight and I thought I was going to break it getting it off. Hopefully I don't have to change the batteries very often. :-)If you have a Shield TV (or any device that needs a remote) definitely give this one a try!Ver másVer menos

Doesn’t work on Samsung
quality is good enough for the price, functions as well. Easy to set up and use. I bought it for a replacement of my Samsung TV remote control, but it doesn’t works well on Samsung TVs. Only the direction buttons and OK button works on Samsung. The product itself is perfect, I tried on my SONY TV, it does works so it works on all normal android TV systems. Just to remind Samsung TV users, it won’t work on Samsung, even it’s android.Ver másVer menos

Every Nvidia Shield owner should have this remote!
When I first opened my Nvidia Shield and saw the remote, I knew I was going to be frustrated with it. Between it's strange "slide to adjust volume" feature to its lack of mute and DVR control buttons, it took me only a day or two before I jumped on Amazon to look for alternatives. I am so glad I went with this remote.It is a little thicker than the Sheild remote, which is good since the Shield remote is just so thin. It was recognized by the Shield as soon as I inserted batteries and plugged the USB receiver into the Shield.I use DirecTVNow for streaming TV service. Since it cannot be installed onto the Shield without sideloading, the app is just not designed for the Shield's remote, especially when viewing DVR content since there is no DVR control on the Shield remote. This remote allows me to quickly rewind, play/pause, and fast forward in the DirecTVNow app using dedicated buttons.I also love having the volume buttons and mute, although I had to turn on the "CEC" audio control option (not the "IR" to my receiver option) in the Sheild's audio settings. This allowed the remote to control the volume on my Yamaha receiver through CEC - awesome!The gyroscope mouse is interesting, but I'm not sure I will use it that often. And I love that there is a microphone on this remote for voice control.At a price under $15 at the time of my review, this is a remote that every Shield owner should have.Ver másVer menos

Do Not Buy
Read the lower-star reviews. This is junk, do not buy.• Air mouse is a joke, the cursor moves frantically on screen, impossible to use.• Hitting any button takes about 1 - 1.5 seconds to reflect to the device: You wanna pause the movie at a certain time? Lower the volume immediately when the warehouse exploded in the middle of the night? Something else? Too bad, it will take at least a second or two until your command takes effect.• Code mappings of buttons are chosen poorly. *Back* button sends a *BROWSER BACK* signal and *Home* button sends a *BROWSER HOME* signal, for example. That's why many reviewers stated that they do not work. They work only if you're using a browser-based os (some smart tvs, I guess?). On Mac or Windows, you can (as I did) leverage an external script to re-map the keys.Except, of course, the *largest* and probably most important key: OK. Yep, OK button does not send any specific signals to the receiver. It's used internally, I guess. For the remote control's own settings, reset etc.And many other issues that I've read in other reviews but didn't see myself simply because I didn't bear it to use that long.So, this is an absolute piece of useless junk; let me repeat, this is JUNK!You've been warned, do not spend even a dime on this.Ver másVer menos

Simply Great!
I got a great deal on this and it works fabulously. the buttons 'click' and are responsive. The remote that came with my android box sucked, the buttons were 'mushy' for lack of a better word and they worked when they wanted. This remote is quality and works and takes zero set up (pop batteries in and put dongle in usb slot).The range seems to be much better than the one I was replacing. Where I sit on the couch is probably a good 10-11 feet away from tv. With the old remote I had to reach as far as I could towards the tv for it it work.I have nothing bad to say. It's one of the best buys from Amazon that I've made. Also, they had a 20% off coupon when I bought it so it was less than $10. 5 stars all around. Nice remote, Big battery drain
This remote works great with my nvidia shield. It has exactly what it needs to function perfectly. No unnecessary buttons to fumble around. However, it chews through batteries like no remote I've ever owned. It's around 4 sets for every 1 set my old dtv remotes used to use.Ver másVer menos

Poor quality control...
I'm now on my third remote. The first layer a bit over a year, when it died I didn't mind because it was relatively inexpensive.The second started having issues around 6 months in.. I've had this one for about 3 months now. I'm dropping from 5 stars to two.The buttons, in particular the volume buttons randomly register multiple clicks. And the mic input stops working half the time.You press volume up once and it registers and goes up 10... Or the other way suddenly it's at 0. The middle selection button starts radically misbehaving with the multi click.I like the form factor,. It's a nice balance of inputs. I could do without the gyro mouse but really want the rest of the features. I just wish it had better build quality and QC.------ original review below.Really like this remote, had it for quite a while now. It functions better than the original Shield TV remote, I've had two before switching to this remote (voice support).Only two complaints really, the battery compartment is really tightly sealed, I've had to use a really thin knife or spudder to open it. The other is that it isn't bluetooth and requires a USB input.As an aside, if they ever did make a bluetooth version, and added a headphone jack like the original/older Shield TV remote, it would be perfect.Ver másVer menos

SO Much Better Than the OEM Remote fro Nvidia Shield!!
I was a bit skeptical this item would fit the bill, but I didn't need to worry, it is a great remote. The "air mouse" feature is a bit wonky, but you can always get there its just a bit awkward and frustrating at times, but is definitely necessary from time to time (like closing pages in Chrome as an example), but generally I can do most of my business using the directional buttons and the interface is perfect in that mode. The OEM Shield remote was awful and constantly running out of those annoying CR2032 batteries. This one takes your garden variety AAA's and will be easy to swap out when they finally fail, which they are showing no signs of presently. Very happy with this purchase!Ver másVer menos

Works really well....with two minor issues
This thing works amazing with my nvidia shield. I am even able to control the volume of my receiver with HDMI CEC.The USB connected right away and is vastly superior to the oem remote that came with the Nvidia Shield 2017.Now to the problems:This is an air mouse as well as a remote. I find the air mouse feature to be VERY sensitive. I believe the instructions describe a way to reduce the sensitivity but I didn't bother with that and simply turned off the air mouse feature. Its one button on the remote and the air mouse is off which I'm happy this has. If that wasn't a feature of remote then it would be grabrage.2nd is I find this remote to be very slippery. It easily slips out of your had and/or from couch cushions. I wish it was made with a more matte/rubber material or if a cover of some kind was available. The air mouse issue is easily resolved. If this remote came with a rubber case then that would solve the issue of being slipper and likely increase it's overall life.a 3rd issue I just thought of is if you have kids, this likely won't last.. The plastic feels slim and flimsy but in an adult owned environment it should be fine. I'm careful with my remotes (all electronic devices actually) and I don't have small children so this isn't a concern for me.Ver másVer menos

Great replacement for the Nvidia Shield remote
The Nvidia Shield is a fantastic media device and excels in every area save for one: the remote.The remote flies through batteries, it can lag from time to time and even not respond for several seconds.I tried multiple remotes hoping to replace the stock one. A blutetooth remote I bought elsewhere worked but would constantly lose connection requiring unpair/pair actions on a near daily basis.I then tried the Dupad G10. While for the most part it worked, I did not care for the button layout and the buttons themselves which I found to be sticky.I am now using the Dupad G20S and it works perfectly. Google Voice is solid. You can switch to air mouse mode if needed. It feels much better in the hand than the stock remote and no more accidently sliding the volume up or down which was a huge pain.Highly recommended for the Nvidia Shield.Ver másVer menos

Wakes instantly, remappable for Plex Media Player
Update: The air mouse re-enables itself constantly, and the other buttons don't work while it is active - so you go to say hit pause, and nothing happens. Again, nothing. Notice the mouse cursor moving - disable air mouse, now pause works. Repeat 20 times a day.This was a great purchase. Around $20, works on Android / Windows / Linux, wakes / sends input immediately when pressing button, feels solid, plug 'n play. I remapped a bunch of controls for Plex Media Player so I can push to change subtitle, spoken language, fullscreen, etc. Should've bought this sooner instead of fussing with my old remote.Ver másVer menos

Works great! Tried same remote by Wechip and that one sucked
It works great out of the box! No issues at all! Loving it so far!! On my Nvidia Shield Ver1Had a remote like it before which I used for about 3years and that one worked great toobut my kids mistreated it (teeth, saliva, drinks,food etc) and it eventually packed up and died.So I ordered the same remote from a different seller (we chip) and It was HORRIBLE!! AIR Mouse control was horrible, wouldn't move when moved, wouldn't move or click when clicked, then you'd get like 20 rapid clicks 3secs later, typing was horrendous. It would auto click whenever it wanted to. Just downright horrible!!Then I bought this one from this seller and it worked GREAT!!
