Good product
Good product. I got the upgrade. The only thing that I don't like is that it's not complete. It keeps asking me to buy upgrades.

DO NOT BUY
Been a Symantec and Norton user for many, many years…however the time has finally come to cut the cord. The free built-in to all PC’s Windows Defender has gotten incredibly good and is within a very slim margin of Norton’s antivirus abilities, with Norton edging out slightly better. However, the latest business model of Norton is to try to extract as much cash from you as possible and this, in my opinion, negates any of the marginal benefit of there antivirus software. I’ve put up with this stuff for the last 5 years even though its been getting worse with each subsequent year, but the tracking of my personal info has been the last straw.It is a huge pain, like a 30 min ordeal, to turn off auto-renewal and they prevent you from removing your credit card number with them. The software cannot be easily modified to change the default virus scan such that it also requires you to perform a “performance” scan, which of course ends up trying to up-charge you $149 to perform these performance actions—total BS with today’s RAM levels and CPU processing power. You get very scammy/promotion emails galore, like at-least 1 per day on trying to upsell you on something. The app has tons of pop-ups trying to upsell you on additional products and it took me 20 mins trying to figure out how to turn these off.However, my biggest issue is the despite being an antivirus product, its own security vulnerabilities are galore. Built into the software is an identity thief’s gold mine! By default the software enables external control of your PC through Norton’s servers! It also sends daily computer logs of your PC to their servers, and these are not just antivirus related reports but tracking of all your actions that you have used the PC for…I suspect it so they can sell your info to data brokers and make some $$. Also these setting are hidden across the program forcing you to go into the weeds to disable them all. These software ports also allow for them to auto download promotional updates to constantly display on your PC with random popups at the worst times (like playing a game or typing something into Word), and these pops are set automatically at a the “high level” so they will display over whatever software/app your currently using.To end this review on a positive…..it looks like the company has finally stopped their “Norton Crypto” so i no longer get constant requires to be a crypto miner for their digital currency which was basically Ethereum rebranded and was totally worthless as it cost your more money in electricity than you’d make in the currency.Ver másVer menos

After purchasing this item I was told it would not work on my device. I finally figured it out.
This program has turned into a piece of crap. After purchasing and attempting download and install, I was told it would not support my PC. Do not purchase!I am not a high-tech person. I finally figured it out and got it loaded and installed. Sorry about the original evaluation. This product is good!Ver másVer menos

Good Software - Greedy Business Practices
I've had Norton Anti-Virus installed on my home computers for the past 6 years and am happy to report it does what it claims to - keeps them virus free and running well. It's easy to install and simple to operate. I especially like the option of right clicking on a newly downloaded file and using Norton from that menu to run a quick scan on just the one file. Now the "Greedy" part of my review title... Boils down to two things. 1. When your Norton plan is about to expire Norton begins showing you pop-ups telling you it's about to occur and offering to sell you a new subscription. No problem with that. What I don't like is the price they offer you from the pop-up offer is usually twice what you'd pay through most online retailers. Very insulting considering I'm already an established customer. If anything, offer me the best price to remain one! 2. What many others have stated in their reviews - Norton now forces you to input a credit card on their site so they can take a shot at auto-billing you when your just purchased subscription expires. Of course that auto-billing will be at the higher price as stated previously. They are hoping you'll forget about the auto-billing and be able to hit you for the higher cost next time around. Greedy. Also, no subscription service that's already purchased should be able to force you to enter a credit card when there's no need for any further charges. Greedy. Yes, you can find the switch within your Norton.com account to tell them not to auto-bill you when your sub expires but, as may other reviewers have noted, no customer wants to be forced to do that! Norton - read these reviews and try to find one that says "I love Norton forces me to enter a credit card so they can try to auto-bill me later at a higher price than what I'll pay through other online retailers because I'm so absent minded they're saving me from myself!" Great Product, but here is what you need to know...
1. Most of the ‘chatter’ that you hear is incorrect and made up by people that like ‘free stuff’- ie: it takes over my computer, conflicts with other programs. Etc.2. This Amazon version requires you to sign up for auto-renew to register it (that is why it is cheaper for the year subscription) but you can cancel the auto-renew right after you register your current copy. Enjoy the small cost for a great product.3. You really can’t install antivirus on an infected computer, it will cause issues installing, running , and updating any antivirus software.4. You should have your system professionally cleaned up before you install any antivirus. Norton supplies a tool to help you if your system is in a ‘bad way’ called Norton Power Eraser, NPE – which is a free download. Run it first to get most of the really bad stuff, then you can install your new Norton Antivirus5. Every company tries to upsell you to get more money and to sell you more options for their products. 99% of people are better off with just antivirus, you don’t need track eraser, VPN, firewall, backup, and many other features that is available from Norton. (sorry Norton, ie Symantec corporation) The more you install, that you don’t really need, the slower your computer will be and it will also affect your internet speed and connectivity to secure sites if you are running any VPN software.Ver másVer menos

So much better buying Norton Security HERE and not their miserable website
I use Norton because it ranks up there with others that are considered the best security suites. It is so much better to buy it here than thru Norton's own website - where they drive you crazy with their "auto renewal" - OMG, they are the worst with their pushing you for 'auto renewal'. I strongly suggest buying it here on Amazon at DEEP DISCOUNT as a one-year thing, and when it runs out, return to Amazon and find the lowest selling new Norton security suite, and buying that for one year. Anything is better than having the money-grabbing Norton drive you nutz.So this is good, I recommend it. AND if another security suite has a top ranking from PC Magazine next year, I will fly to that one. Don't stay glued to the same suite - find one that works the best for you!Ver másVer menos

Beware of auto renewal policy!
I’ve relied on Norton Antivirus for protection since the days of Windows 95, and in terms of security, it has consistently delivered. The level of protection is excellent, and contrary to some claims, I haven’t experienced any significant system slowdowns or resource issues while using it.That said, there’s a major downside that potential buyers should be aware of: the renewal practices. While the initial purchase price is very affordable (around $14.99), the subscription automatically renews after one year at a much higher rate—often around $120—because it includes additional features bundled into the renewal. This jump in pricing isn’t always made clear upfront, and the lack of proactive notification can feel misleading.I’ve personally had to dispute these charges through my bank and PayPal more than once, which is frustrating given how solid the product itself is. Going forward, I’ve set calendar reminders to cancel before the renewal date to avoid unexpected charges.Overall, Norton offers dependable protection and solid performance, but the subscription and billing transparency could use significant improvement.Ver másVer menos
