Great feed, a little expensive
Overall great and as expected. Hens enjoy it and lay frequently. I did need to add some oyster shell as they started to have very thin fragile eggs but all is good now. Some bags do have a good amount of powder in it as well but sometimes I add a little water to make the most of it.Ver másVer menos

Fantastic. Chickens love it. Very Fresh.
I have raised my birds since they were chicks on New Country from Starter and Grower feed to this Layer feed. It's easy to ferment and the girls love that, but they also really enjoy it unfermented as well. I chose corn free due to being in very HOT Texas and only supplement cracked corn when the weather gets in the mid-thirties and under, which is not very often. They hit the grower stage in November and seemed to need supplemental protein even on the grower formula, but that may be due to the cold and filling out the rest of their feathering all at the same time. When I started them on this Layer feed they were really excited about it. Opening the bag it looked great, very clean and dry with a good smell. The girls don't seem to need as much of it either now that they finished out their initial growth spurt. This really is a great brand and worth the price for happy, disease-free birds, who love to bounce around and play.Ver másVer menos

I liked it, but chickens not so much
I really like the product. It looks good it’s clean and looks very healthy. All my problem is my Chickies didn’t seem to like it very much. It was their first time having it fermented that may have played a part. I’ve only gotten one bag, but it does appear that my chickens weren’t really digging the food. 😔 Everything else about it seems good and I would like to try this brand once more.Ver másVer menos

A quarter of the bag is husks and husk dust -
About a quarter of the bag is filled with husks and dust. I figured out when I thought the hens had food, but it was just a tray full of husks and they don't eat the husks so its a lot of wasted weight. Also if you look through the bag closely its a lot of empty husk. I would not buy this again. I wouldnt say poor quality, but poorly processed.Ver másVer menos
