Must have for large spools
Amazing quality. Works extremely well for large spools. Easy to assemble together.

A must-have for machine sewists!
Why did I wait so long? I quit buying regular bobbins years ago. Excellent tool for regular, large and extra large spools. Have had some success just using a coffee mug but, the thread must lay on the top of my machine and easy to get bound up on the cover hinge or manual foot feed knob. Sits to the right of my machine, not encumbering to quilting by hand. Having a thread eye is better than a loop that could drop the thread when refeeding. No issues with the base weight: sits firmly on the work station. Nice that it easily comes apart when traveling to lay flat. Extendable height to fit any size machine.Ver másVer menos

Great quality but lacks instructions to assemble
I bought this when my plastic spool thread holder broke. The quality is very nice. It's sturdy and unlikely to snap in half like my other one. There's not much to say - it will do its job nicely and hold up to years of sewing.I only have two complaints - one was that there were no instructions or diagrams in the box. I had trouble assembling it - there are some unnecessary holes in the base complicating that trouble. Expect that you need to really push the center pin in - it won't go in easily, which is good once its assembled because you don't have to worry about it falling out or moving. And the little screw and washer in the same bag as that center pin go underneath the base, to secure the telescoping thread holder.My other complaint is that you have to thread the thread through the top thread holder thing. You can't just hook it on like my old plastic one. I tried hooking it by passing it between the metal bars, but the metal is so close together that it broke the thread. I tried to bend it a little to give space but no luck. It's definitely sturdy! It would have been nice to have the slightest gap there so I could just hook the yarn, since it sits behind my machine and is already difficult to get at.Either way, I don't regret buying it. I will adapt to threading and I figured out the assembly. This is much sturdier and nicer than my previous one.Ver másVer menos

Good buy, compact if needed
A low center of gravity helps keep it sturdy. You can use it for embroidery, surging, and seeing if you want to switch between thread without having to change the physical spool for multiple color projects. Came with everything I needed to set it up. It’s telescopic so you can tuck it away and it will fit even a small workspace.Ver másVer menos

Great long-term
I have officially owned this item for 3 years. We prefer the big thread spools because you get more bang for your buck buying them over those thumb-lengthed ones. It was always a struggle to have the large spool on the table just dangling randomly. This spool holder has been great! It is straightforward and easy to use/adjust. We loved it so much that first week of using it that we purchased a second one days later! 3 years later and I have no idea if we kept the spare one or gave it to someone as a gift lol. Definitely a great item to have if you also use tall/wide thread spools too.Ver másVer menos

Perfect in it
This is a fairly simple item which is invaluable to quilters and sewists. I much prefer purchasing the larger, more economical spools of thread which don't fit the built in spindle on my machine. The telescoping, adjustable height thread guide makes it easy to feed the thread through any height machine. The price point was perfect and I expect to get many years of use out of this thread spool holder. Love it!Ver másVer menos
