Food for a picky Pup
My dog is a picky eater, but she loves this food.

Maybe got a bad batch
I gave this 3 star because I have received before no problems, but this time the food appeared dried out.- You should know that this is a non-refundable item on Amazon. If you get a bad batch you will need to contact customer service and send a picture of the food. If this had been the first time getting this variety, I would not have known it was off.- I get a case every 3 weeks so I am familiar with the product. Normally the Perfect Weight Hearty Vegetables and Chicken stew has a more liquid consistency (more gravy) and is darker brown. I also get another variety (sensitive stomach) that does have a thicker consistency.- This time the Perfect Weight food was congealed into a thick paste and was lighter in color. If I turn the can upside down, it stays in the can.Expiration date is 1/2026 Code on bottom of can is T510545 340 28224- Via Amazon, there is no way to report the problem other than leave a review. I also contacted Hills, and am waiting for a reply.14 March 2023 Update:1. Got another case and it was fine. Attached photo of good can.2. Hills requested pictures of bad and good cans. Standard - "will share with department" response.3. Hills stated "Canned products that have become congealed can be the result of exposure to very cold temperatures for an extended period of time during transportation and distribution", but this was more than just congealed. It looked lighter and dryer also. They told me to return rest if I wanted a refund, but I had already thrown it out.4. Updated review to 4 stars.PLEASE contact Hills if you had a similar experience, so this gets tracked.Ver másVer menos

vet, mommy & dog approved.
Whereas the pate is solid but crumbles up nicely (especially when I microwave for 6 seconds because I keep the can covered with foil in the fridge) this stew is in gravy. This stew is what makes her dance, so we will stick with it. I am grateful to Amazon for making the range of SD Perfect Weight products available for us - they don't have much of the line at our competing local Pet Super markets. This stew is a great mix of big & small chunks of meat, vegetables and thick gravy. This makes my 13-in-Jan 2018 small breed dog dance for dinner, which was not her style before she tried the stew. Twice a day we mix 1/4 cup Science Diet Perfect Weight dry for miniatures (great small little crunchy) with a loaded teaspoon of this stew. She just licks that plate so clean every time, which she didn't really do with the pate she had before.Vet recommended we watch her weight via weekly weighing at home, and adjust the portions as we see fit. It is nice to not worry about calculating the proper amount - as long as she isn't gaining (or losing too much) the regimen is good, and is easy enough to tweak as needed. Before the Perfect Weight wet, she was eating adult regular SD wet like the Salmon for Sensitive skin, and Chicken and Barley. She has lost a lot of weight and was maintaining the weight loss well with the Science Diet Perfect Weight dry - it did the trick when other "diet" lines failed. So when I came across this SD Perfect Weight wet food, I decided to use it to increase the effectiveness of the Perfect Weight dry. This stew, with the Perfect Weight mini crunchy is the perfect combination for my girl.Ver másVer menos

Wouldn't feed my dogs anything but Hill Science Diet!
Hill's Science Diet Perfect Weight is fantastic! Our two small dogs love the food and we love that it is healthy for them and helps us manage their weight! The product helps you navigate what amount of food your pet need to either lose or maintain weight. It's good for them and reliable! We and the dogs love this product! We have our order on Subscribe and Save, and that is convenient and helps to get cost down.Ver másVer menos

My snobby, chunky Schnauzer wouldn’t eat this but…⬇️
My other dogs loved it so that’s why this dog food gets 5 stars. Bailey is a picky, chubby little girl who could stand to lose a few pounds. This food was a total and epic fail where she was concerned. When I gave her a bowl of this wet food mixed with the dry version, she smelled it, took one look at me, gave me the infamous Schnauzer stink eye and marched her chunky little rear end into the bedroom. Her utter disgust for the food and me were both very evident. All of my dogs are on Hills. Been using it for over a decade. It’s good dog food. The fact that my other dogs, who aren’t chunky, devoured it, proves it is palatable and tasty (they eat anything, including things they shouldn’t like my shoes). Bailey is just a horribly spoiled rotten Schnauzer who likes to boss me around and she does a very good job at making me feel like a stupid hooman. But…isn’t that what they are supposed to do?!🤣🤣🤣Ver másVer menos
