Just what I was looking for

This exactly what I was looking for. It is well built and does the job. However, I found that if you are going to use it at full length (I have a projector screen that uses every inch of the tube) it tends to bow at the joint and I had it come apart once. As I have no need to collapse it, i glued it together with some Testors model glue. That did the trick. I applied the glue to several points in the joint and let it setup for a few hours, problem solved. I would buy another one if I had the need.Ver másVer menos

  PJ Concertgoer’s best friend!

I travel for Pearl Jam concerts and purchase posters from each show. They are usually 18 x 24”, but sometimes narrower, sometimes longer. Sometimes it’s outside and sometimes it rains. Sometimes I have a seat and can slide this tube under it, but more often it’s GA and I’m standing in the pit. Whatever the circumstance, this tube is da bomb dot com! Why, you ask? Well, it’s adjustable lengthwise per your needs. Has little round pegs and holes for you to set the length, and it stays in place. It’s durable - because it’s adjustable, it’s built like a tube that slides over another tube, so your stuff is well protected and doesn’t get bent. It’s hard plastic and the lid screws on tight, so it’s WATERPROOF! And the carrying strap is narrow and light (and also adjustable), so it’s easy to wear crossbody comfortably. Like for hours, comfortably. Like, it’s so comfortable that my husband OFFERS to carry it/wear it for me! Oh, and I have rolled up t-shirts I’ve bought and slid them in here too! I love this darn thing. (By the way, no one gave me anything or paid me to write this review. It cracks me up when I read those reviews and people are reviewing something they got for FREE. Ha! I paid full price for this sucker. No coupons, no discounts, no gift cards, no Amazon balance. Worth every cent.) Peace and love.Ver másVer menos

  Great

The expanding function is super helpful as I didnt know exact size of posters I would be storing. It is a little hard to change the size once things are inside, for reference.

It works for me. This tube is just as advertised, but evaluate what YOU need first

I ordered this particular model because I needed 51.5" minimum. The overall 53" length is in the fully extended position and is the outside measurement. When fully extended and locked, this model is not likely suitable for airline travel, but for vehicle travel and storage it will definitely fit most uses. When locked at less than the full extension, there is more overlap between the tubes and hence, more rigidity. I'm using this tube to store rigid whip-style radio antennas called ham-sticks. Each pair of stick antennas will go inside a lenth of foam pipe insulation, and with three pairs, the three foam inserts will fit nicely in this tube. Obviously a very specific use. One thing I did as a margin of safety is wrap the joint where the tubes lock with several wraps of gaffer's tape. This eliminates most flexing and adds rigidity. Buying this tube was actually less expensive than buying the PVC pipe, caps, etc to make my own antenna carrier!!Ver másVer menos

  Very flimsy plastic

If you're buying this to protect a nautical chart, don't bother. It's very flimsy. If a newborn infant accidentally rolled over it would flatten it. I don't see how this case could protect it from any impacts. I'm sure it would protect against dust. It would not hold up traveling. The plastic is very thin. I wouldn't recommend it to protect anything you wouldn't want wrinkled or creased.Ver másVer menos

  Terrific Tube!!!

It was exactly what I was looking for; a hard lightweight case for my two-piece ultralight spinning rod. Coupled with neoprene rod sleves, it is perfect.

  Won't stay together

Plastic is flimsy. The locking mechanism wouldn't stay locked. While walking through the airport, the tube came apart in no less than 5 occasions. Very frustrating

This protective tube is perfect. I love the colour, the quality of the finish and construction, and the fact that it extends to accommodate documents of different sizes. It is exactly the product I was looking for. I recommend it 100%. For the price, you cannot go wrong. Go for it!Ver másVer menos

  Highly recommend!!

Purchased this for my brother. He needed something to carry his fishing rods in when traveling. This worked perfectly!! It fit in his large suitcase, didn't take up a whole lot of room, and kept everything contained and together. Highly recommend for those fishing travelers. ;)Ver másVer menos
