Works well
This is our 3rd APC battery backup. The first two were used for PC's. This one backs up our house alarm system, wifi router, and cable modem because we have so many short power outages by PG&E. No problems and I expect several years of use before the battery will need to be replaced.Ver másVer menos

Easy to install, uses standard battery
I have used other members of the Back-UPS family. I note that this unit uses a single battery of the same type as other Back-UPS units, albeit in greater quantity. For example, the Back-UPS 1500 uses a pair of these batteries, and the Back-UPS external battery pack contains four such batteries. Installation was straightforward. I plugged in a single computer and monitor. Runtime was initially estimated to be 12 minutes, battery capacity at 40%. I was unable to initiate a self-test from the computer. I then unplugged the UPS, allowing it to run on battery power for 25 seconds, plugged it back in, and was then able to initiate the self-test from the computer. Battery installation date was listed as last March, so I updated the date to today's date, beginning the 3-year service period as of now. The CD shipped with the unit contains a newer version of Power-Chute than I have previously used, and also indicated there are updates available, which I did not install at this time. The battery now indicates 100% charged and a 24 minute estimated runtime. I'm assuming this may change over time as the battery becomes temperature stabilized and properly conditioned. I had bought extra batteries for my other Back-UPS units and am pleased to know they will fit this unit as well.Ver másVer menos

Quality Product
I'm really pleased with the performance of this product. I live in an area where the power company provides bizarrely erratic power. It's common for our lights to dim for a few seconds a couple of times a day for no apparent reason. We've also had destructive surges on at least two occasions, one of which blew out the electronics in our microwave oven and the other destroyed my computer which was unprotected at the time. The APC unit smooths out the power to my computer and completely protects it. And I love that it comes with a replacement guarantee for any equipment that is plugged into it. For my purposes the rock solid voltage stabilization is more important than operating on battery, but I do like that the APC unit gives me plenty of time to safely power down the computer in the event of a power failure.Ver másVer menos

It works, easy to set up.
This Backup UPS works as stated. I've only had one power interruption of less than 1 minute since I got my UPS. It kicked on immediately. The hum others talked about is there, but I am usually involved in my work that I rarely notice it. The hum from my tower is louder. The main thing is the back up works and protects my equipment from a hard shut down.Ver másVer menos

Reliable product.
I purchased this APC UPS back up for home use on a new pc. I have used APC for many years at work for this type of application. Batteries are easily had if replacements are needed at a later date. I get an average of 6 or 7 years on average. APC has always performed well for me when needed. Just be mindful to size correctly for your application.Ver másVer menos

APC Battery Backup
APC has always been the backup battery of my choosing. This one is no different. I don't use the software or the WiFi, hence, I did not need Tech Support! I have lost power a few time since purchasing this unit and it has provided me with plenty of time to close all my programs and properly shut down my computer.Ver másVer menos

Nice unit
Nice workable unit that's not to heavy and doesn't make noise like a lot of UPS's. Would recommend for anyone to purchase and use.

APC Back-UPS
I order the back-ups for one of the computers in my office. I had previously ordered the same product for other computers in my office. It has been installed & seems to be working well, as are the first ones I ordered. Delivery time was satisfactory.

This product is not working and showing that the battery needs to be replaced.
The product is showing that the battery needs to be replaced and is flashing the red battery replacement light. We would like to return this item as it is faulty.
