Both books are fantastic!
Loved reading the story from both male POVs! You really get so much of their backstory and character development. I loved both guys and wish the storyline could be a Why Choose scenario. lol.The books are gorgeous!! Must buy!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️For those of you who don’t impulse buy solely based on looks this one is split between Grim and Oro’s stories and gives us a glimpse into their life before Isla and during the first book Lightlark. Did we need this? No, but it has beautiful artwork and swoonworthy moments so I’m happy. 🤣Oro:I really enjoyed reading about Oro before Isla - seeing him meet his friends and get more of a vibe of how he was before everything was cursed. But let’s be honest the best part about this book was seeing how deeply he loves Isla. My heart broke into a million pieces reading his side of things. He is such a good character. 👑🤴“Find your fire. When I look at her eyes, blazing green with flecks of gold, I think- I’ve found her.”GrimI’m telling you right now, there’s no way he’s not endgame. I realize the memory wiping was a horrible decision but he loves every part of her completely. The infinity line hurts SO much understanding Grim’s relationship with his sister and seeing everything play out….you knew it was bad, but dang. 😭All I will say, is I think this side made me love him a little more.“I want everything with you, Hearteater. I want marriage, I want children, I want to be standing next to you, holding your hand, at the end of the world.” “I want to live endless lifetimes with you, because one isn’t enough. Not for me. Captivating! This author grabs your attention.
Oro & Grimm by Alex Aster completely swept me away. From the very first page, the story is rich, dark, and immersive, pulling you into a world that feels both magical and dangerous in the best way. The dynamic between Oro and Grimm is absolutely captivating—layered with tension, emotion, and a slow-burn intensity that makes every interaction crackle.Alex Aster’s writing is vivid and atmospheric, with beautiful descriptions balanced perfectly against fast-paced action. The characters are complex and flawed, and I loved watching them grow, clash, and challenge each other throughout the story. The themes of power, loyalty, love, and sacrifice are woven seamlessly into the plot, giving the story real depth without slowing it down.This book had me emotionally invested, gasping at twists, and savoring the quieter moments just as much as the high-stakes ones. If you enjoy fantasy with strong character development, compelling relationships, and a touch of darkness, Oro & Grimm is an absolute must-read. New Insights
This is a great addition to the series. A retelling of sorts of key moments from the first three books from the perspectives of Grim and Oro. It filled in a lot of blanks learning more about their past with each other and especially each of them with Isla. Particularly given Isla’s wiped memory, I found the Grim portion most enlightening. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series with all this new information. Alex Aster told me that her hope was for this book to give folks a different lens to know the two male main characters, and it definitely do that. It did not make me switch teams - Grim forever! - but I do have a new appreciation for Oro and his feelingsVer másVer menos

Beautiful book, great story - 5/5 (must read!)
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!This gorgeous, hardcover edition of Grim and Oro is legitimately breathtaking with it's art and sprayed edges. The book is split in half, and when you get halfway (one ruler), you flip it upside down to read the other half (the other ruler).I would recommend reading this after Book 3 of the Lightlark Saga, because it spoils some of the secrets that are spilled in Book 3. I was pretty much Team Grim until I read this book, now I am more Team Oro. Gotta love a good love triangle, right?The writing is great - Alex Aster has gotten better with each book in this series and really settled into her voice as a storyteller.This book gives great background on both Grim and Oro, and helps give their stories a bit more weight so you truly feel for Isla, having to pick between them.You can skip it and still read the series just fine, but I would definitely recommend reading it before Book 4, since that book switches POV from Oro to Grim to Isla. It puts you in a great frame of mind to read all of their POV's better :)5/5 - great stories, great writing, BEAUTIFUL bookVer másVer menos

Great book!
Double the magic, double the fun! This book felt like finding a hidden treasure, with two exciting stories in one. Each story was well-made, so they didn’t need to be separate. Learning about Grim and Oro’s childhoods was surprising, showing how similar they were and setting up the next part. I was happy to see familiar things from Isla’s point of view, but it didn’t feel repeated. The story moved smoothly, making me excited to explore the world of Crowntide!Ver másVer menos

I really enjoyed this read so much! Oro was okay but Grims story was very interesting! The illustrations and cover is so pretty!! This book is perfect for the Lightlark fan!

Excellent book.
Absolutely beautiful art work. Great concept of each p.o.v being opposite sides of the book. Great read.
